Yes the cornhole of the ass, it's amazing how many people want to live here, in our 75 degree during the winter, never having to deal with ice and snow weather. |

If you understand anything about the concept the stadium would be used as part of the LA Convention Center when it is not in football use. |

It's actually LA County, so depending on what you consider "LA" it's right there. And it's MUCH MUCH more convenient to the 3+ Million of us that live in Orange County. |

I am bias but I dont see how the Vikings would be anyones #1 prediction to be moved. The Vikings have a large fanbase that takes them into 4-5 states. I know in the end it will all end up in the hands of Zygi however I feel the NFL will do all that they can to keep the Vikings where they are and push a different team into LA. It really would not be in the NFL's best interest to push them out of Minnesota. Yes, they get into the 2nd largest market however they are pushing a team out of a region with a large fanbase which basically accomplishes nothing except piss off their current fans that they may not get back without a team to cheer for in the region.
I would speculate Jacksonville followed by the Chargers would be my guess. The Bills will probably be soon heading to Toronto. If the Vikings were to move Id have to become a Chiefs fan. Actually, Id probably just cheer for my fantasy football teams and have no rooting interest in anything except watching the LA Vikings lose. Last edited by jbergey22 : 12-18-2010 at 01:05 AM. |

As a Bears fan, I would be bummed if the Vikings left. They've been a long rival. I also went to college in Minnesota and it's got good fans who love football. Never remember there being an issue with blackouts. And I'm guessing if they can get a good stadium, it would only help things out there.

"Farmers Field" may become a new home for the NFL. Backers of a plan to build a football stadium in downtown Los Angeles are set to announce Tuesday that they have reached a naming-rights deal worth $700 million, which would be the most valuable naming-rights agreement ever and a significant step toward bringing an NFL team to Los Angeles. AEG, the huge entertainment company that, among other holdings, owns Staples Center and the L.A. Live complex, plans to announce a 30-year agreement with Farmers Insurance. The deal would provide AEG's proposed project a crucial chunk of contractually obligated income, starting at $20 million for the first year and escalating incrementally every year after, according to individuals familiar with the negotiations but not involved in them.

Keep the Raiders, Vikings, and Chargers where they are. Let the Jaguars move to LA. There's as many Dolphin fans as Jaguar fans in that part of the country anyway, if not more. If this happens, the Dolphins would be the closest AFC team to me so I won't have to watch them on the Internet or in bars so often. That'd be great.

In other news, one of the billionaires trying to get an NFL team back to LA is also part of a group discussing building a 40,000 seat domed stadium on UNLV's campus.
I'm not a fan of domed stadiums, but it'd be awesome to have the football stadium on campus and not, you know, way the fuck out nowhere in the middle of the desert. Developers put early plans for UNLV stadium, retail district on display - Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 | 9:30 a.m. - Las Vegas Sun

I really do hope they build the UNLV stadium, especially if they include all the retail and housing stuff as well.
This campus has almost no effect on its surrounding neighborhood, but that would all change if the proposal goes through and gets built.

I think I read a few weeks ago that the Chargers have declined or will decline to opt out of their current contract with the city of San Diego. So, for now, they aren't going anywhere.

ha! from the LA Times today, about their coverage of the Farmers Field press conference:
If responses sent to [email protected] are indicative of broader public opinion in Los Angeles, support for the proposed downtown NFL stadium was confined entirely to the halls of the L.A. Convention Center, where boosters and local pols held a gala on Tuesday to christen the not-yet-shovel-ready Farmers Field. As of 2 p.m. Friday, not a single one of the dozens of letters submissions on the topic expressed support for the stadium. Two were borderline. |

While the look is not great, it is well-designed for flight.

I hear they're going to call it "Shoulder Pad Stadium".
I'll be here all week.

lol...thank you. It gets confusing tracking all of this stuff. So now we have four people willing to build stadiums for NFL teams. 1. The forgotten proposal for a stadium out in Walnut to the east of LA that I presume at this point is getting no traction at all. 2. AEG's Farmer Field plans next to Staples 3. Stan Kroenke and his Hollywood Park land stadium plan, presumeably for the Rams. 4. And now the Super Stadium in Carson, to be co-used by the Raiders and Chargers. I'm really only hoping for the Rams, so I can become a Rams fan again.

if i ran the chargers i would move to anaheim. halfway between sd and la, and oh yeah, a pretty big market in its own right. everyone wins...even if the rams move to la.
plus the san diego chargers of los angeles of anaheim has a GREAT ring to it. Last edited by Pyser : 02-20-2015 at 02:02 PM. |

Personal prediction:
One team will move to LA soon (no idea which). NFL will informally block move of any other teams. This will enable the NFL to continue to use the LA market to blackmail cities into overspending on stadiums and giveaways. If two teams go to LA, then that market can no longer be used to extort other cities. What's left then? London? |

st louis and san antonio. im all for 2 teams in 1 stadium here. but i'd prefer zero teams to be honest, i cant afford tickets and dont want the traffic (like that the proposed locations are out of the way, except for the team-less downtown option). rams and chargers teaming up makes sense to me. |

I really don't see a reason for the NFL to block Kroenke from taking the Rams back to LA? He has the money to build his own stadium.
That stadium pictured above is butt-ugly. Plus it would be odd to have two teams in the same division sharing a stadium. Though I guess it could increase interest of LA fans.

I've read that if both the Chargers and Raiders relocate to LA, then one of those teams will swap places with Seattle in the NFC. |

I'm most interested in this swap. Would it be Seattle? Makes sense given their history, but what about all their recent success? What if you put the Rams in the AFC West and created an intense cross-Missouri rivalry? And which of the Raiders and Chargers would go the other way? They're both founding AFL franchises... I would think it'd be easier for the Chargers to sever ties with rivals. |
