Hey, hate to go out like this, but since it's the last season and I'll be heading out of town mid-week for about 2 weeks, just toss me on auto the rest of the way. Thanks for running the show Kodos!

Cartman and I have tried two more times to play. It has frozen up in the first minute (on the first play in one case) both times.
You can put me on autopilot and let him play the CPU. I don't know why it keeps dropping. My connection is rated good. |

I won't be able to try again until Friday evening. I'm in Houston the rest of the week for work.

I can try again Friday night too. I'll double check my router settings to see if that could be the issue. I need to start the game before 9 Eastern. Can start anytime between 6 and 9. Let me know, Cartman.

Ohio State leads 24-14 over Nebraska at halftime in a game that has both shown me why I love this game and why I hate it. I started the game off with an interception that was one of those where the WR gets stuck on the LB coming over the middle and the ball gets picked after the LB warps to the ball as if by magic. Those are infuriating. I haven't seen it much if at all this year, but there it was.
Nebraska gets a quick 7 of the TO. From there Ohio State takes advantage of the weak Nebraska secondary. Guiton goes 12-17 for 220 yards and 3 TD in the first half and leads a 3 play 80+ yard TD drive at the end of the half. The second half sees Guiton get really wild on his throws(oftentimes missing wide open guys for some reason!!???), but the defense stepped up as did RB Jamal Berry to hold on to a 37-21 win. Highlights of the second half include Berry scoring on an acrobatic over the top leaping TD run of 9 yards. Also DE Melvin Fellows, formerly of possible Heisman hype by yours truly, records sacks number 13, 14, and 15 of the year to break the Ohio State single season sack mark(after just 8 games too). Sack number 14 also forced a fumble. Green light here.

Two more things. Thanks for holding it up for me Kodos.
And a big blah to Eaglesfan27 for not only taking the recruiting lead on an O-Lineman that I have had the lead on the entire recruiting trail so far, but also somehow getting him to give a hard commit. Blah indeed.

Cartman has been very patient as I have battled continuing router issues. This is a relatively new router that I have never played any online games with on Xbox. Fingers crossed that we are about to play. If this time it doesn't work, I don't know what else to do and Cartman can play the computer.
Sigh. I thought it was working. It let me get through a whole offensive series, but on Cartman's 2nd offensive play of the game it froze again Edit: It didn't freeze actually, but it said, "the connection to your opponent has been lost." Sorry Cartman

It is a Cisco E4200, if anyone has any ideas (mainly for future usage.) However, I'm sure I turned on port forwarding properly and opened all the ports Cartman said to do (and that Xbox's site says to do.)

I see that there is a firmware update for the E2400. Also saw some references to setting a different MTU size, but they didn't say what it should be set to.

Maybe I should let the CPU play all of my games. I must be doing something very wrong on defense this season.
I'll get my game in tonight. I'll probably have to go on auto for at least one week. I'm in Houston tomorrow and Tuesday for work, then heading on a week long road trip to Idaho for my cousin's wedding.

Unfortunately, I can't even get as far as I did with Cartman. It is hard freezing before we even get to kickoff. It has repeatedly done so. No idea what the problem is with this router, but I don't have the time to hard-wire my Xbox right now, especially since I will be moving out of this town home into a house soon, if all goes according to plan. Mike can play the computer. Sorry I can't seem to get this fixed

Sorry to hear about the ongoing issues. I'll go ahead and just sim that game when we move forward.
We had a tougher than expected game against the Gophers yesterday night. But for a long interception return for a TD, they might have beaten us. They definitely played better than us, and outside of a couple big plays, we were largely ineffective. Still, we won 21-10. |

Purdue scores the first 7. Ohio State scores the next 34.
On a day where a blizzard hit Columbus, Ohio, Ohio State was simply too talented for Purdue. Despite a rough start which saw starting QB Ken Guiton get knocked out of the game on the first series and Taylor Graham enter the game only to toss an INT on his first play Ohio State over was able to overcome. Purdue would use the short field to put the first 7 of the came on the board. Ken Guiton would re-enter the game and play as exceptional. He ended up 13-18 for 219 yards and a TD. He proved to be a dual threat by adding another TD on the ground. Once again the defense was fantastic recording six sacks, an int, and recovering a forced fumble. DE Melvin Fellows recorded three of those sacks and recovered a fumble forced by SS Ohrian Johnson in the endzone for a TD. At the end of the day Ohio State defeated not only Purdue but also the blizzard 34-7. Green light here.

I squeaked by Penn State. In my last three games (ND, Pur and Penn St.) The computer has been in rare form. Going on a rampage on offense and making freakish defensive plays. The Penn State defense was everywhere.
We lost our top RB Monty Ball (for 11 weeks) a few weeks ago and are relying on a tandem of Sophomores in Al Willis and James White to fill the void. Last week we lost our starting Senior DT (for 5 weeks) and the starting QB is getting knocked out for a series or two each week for the last three games. Hopefully we can hold it together down the stretch. |

Had a good game with Mike1409. We were tied 14-14 at the half, but my defense decided to finally show up and we scored 21 while shutting out the Gators in the 2nd half.

Ohio State travels to Iowa City and emerges victorious 24-3 in a game that was controlled by Ohio State from start to finish.
Ohio State out gained Iowa 332-139 in total offense. Junior RB Jamaal Berry chipped in two TD runs to provide the bulk of the Ohio State scoring. In injury news Ohio State starting WR Corey Berry left in the first half with a bruised shoulder and is listed as out for 1 week. Hopefully he is able to make it to the field next week against Michigan. Also Ohio State RB and impact player Jamaal Berry suffered a strained shoulder and is listed as out for 2 weeks. He absolutely will not see the field against Michigan. Green light here.

Michigan survives a scare by a surprisingly spunky Notre Dame team. We spotted them a 14-0 lead after they scored on their opening drive and then turned a quick turnover into another score. Then, we scored 28 straight to take a two-score lead. Unfortunately, we got a bit conservative and let them back into the game. They tied it at 28-28 with less than a minute to go, then pinned us inside our 20 on the ensuing kickoff. Freshmen WR Drew Gonzalez pulled a Brian Westbrook on a sure touchdown on our first play, as he pulled up and allowed himself to get tackled inside the Notre Dame 5. We then ran the clock down, and pitched it to Fitzgerald Toussaint with less than 5 seconds remaining to go ahead and give Notre Dame no time to work with. Our special teams contained the kick returner, and that was all she wrote: a 35-28 victory over the Golden Domes. Somewhere out there, Godzilla Blitz must be smiling.

Wisconsin put the screws to Michigan State. MSU kept it close through the first half, then the Badgers got rolling. Hopefully we can hold off Oregon from overtaking us in the two spot. Not really sure how we are so close to them with a tougher strength of schedule. But it is pretty tight.
