Indiana struggled in the first half and fell behind Yale 17-7, but rallied in the second half to come away from New Haven with a 24-17 victory. It wasn't pretty, and we'll need to improve a lot on offense if we hope to move up the ladder any time soon. Still, nice to start out with a win. And just nice to finally be playing the games.

Wasn't able to put up a dynasty story last night as I was having some connection issues and was more worried about being sure the game posted.
The game was not very close. Final was 48-20. Offense: A KU's offense put up a very strong game. Several players contributed to a balanced attack. Defense: B- Gave up a handful of big plays which lead to Towson points. Otherwise, a very sound effort from the D. Special Teams: A 2-2 on short field goals. The only KU punt of the game was downed at the 5 yard line. Return game set up strong field position throughout.

Got my ass kicked 35-8....I have been playing way to much Road To Glory and coaching carousel as I forgot the view and how easy taking control of players. By the time I got the hang of it I was down 28 - 0.
I couldn't generate squat for a running game which does not bode well for my future games...it was sad watching players move up in the box knowing I was going to get maybe 2 seconds to get a pass off. Draw play worked maybe twice...

My 28-14 victory against Weak Forest got wiped out when I couldn't get the transfer to happen after the game. I tried several times over the course of an hour, but I kept getting an error message that the online dynasty server was down. Which makes no sense, because when I finally gave up and quit without the transfer going through, I got right into the dunasty. Damn you, EA Sports!

I've seen that a couple of times, play a Road To Glory game or two, it whines about the servers being down, then I go right into the dynasty.

Crap. I was really hoping we could avoid this sort of issue. Will it let you play the game again? I've reported it in the Transfer Failed Bug thread over at OS. Not that it will matter. Last edited by Kodos : 10-12-2011 at 11:55 AM. |

FWIW, took me close to 5 mins to connect after my game. Was pretty worried it wasn't going to upload.

I did. I didn't play quite as well, but the score was more favorable.
FYI, it shows me as having 2 restarts, but I only had the 1. Last edited by chesapeake : 10-13-2011 at 11:46 AM. |

We had a very tough game against Clemson. Things started out well with our QB getting us up 14-0, but 2 interceptions later and it was tied at 14.
I thought we were done when he went down with a concussion midway through the 3rd, but with 1:04 left in the game, our backup QB rallied us for a TD to lead a comeback despite missing our top WR. We held on to win 33-28. |

Last year, I had some trouble with it glitching, so I only recruit from in the game these days. Maybe it is more reliable in NCAA 2012.

Well, I was gonna write up about our comeback win from down 24-0, but since I got a transfer failed message after the game... why bother?

I almost came back from 28-7 down, but the stupid computer threw a 91 yard bomb as time expired AFTER two sacks and with me having 4 safeties deep when the other middle safety ran up to double-cover one WR leaving another streaking down the middle that I couldn't move over fast enough from my safety position to stop.
Combined with the 38 yard strike for a TD as the first half expired, a Hail Mary into a crowd in the endzone that their receiver miraculously jumped up and caught outright, I'm surprised my TV and controller survived the game. Took me an entire half to get used to the fact that on this difficulty level not only do we have super-jumping LBs, we have super-jumping LBs with stickum.

The Victory Bell comes home to Duke! I threw 3 picks in the 1st Quarter, but only found myself down 16-0. I gradually worked my way back into the game, and found myself up 20-16 in the 4th. WIth a minute left, UNC hit a bomb with their receiver double covered, and my DB left their RB uncovered out of the backfield, so with 30 seconds left, I was suddenly down by 3. 3 plays later, I hit my TE over the middle for a TD of my own, and the clock expired on the following kickoff. Let's go Duke!
One concern -- midway through the 4th, I had sacked the UNC QB 9 times. The blitz was working, so I kept calling it; but has anyone else been getting a sick number of sacks? Looking at my stats page, I had 7 sacks v Wake. |

I haven't noticed too many sacks. I have been getting quite a few holding calls. Including on our opening kickoff return TD...
One thing that is nice about this year's game is that the computer will go deep and get completions. Other years, they'd never throw deep. Seems like CPU receivers are good at catching in traffic as well. Last edited by Kodos : 10-19-2011 at 12:23 PM. |

On sacks: I got a ton vs Wake, and not all with the blitz. Many were thanks to holding the ball too long.
On deep catches by CPU: I had both the "heavily covered" catch, and the "safety screwed up the coverage and left him wide open when he should have never let anyone get open deep" version.

If anything needs to be tweaked, it is the running game. Looking through the first weeks games, CPU is still not very successful.

With all these close games against comparable teams, I'd like to go a season before tweaking anything. Let's go more than a week or so before adjusting.
FWIW, Wake ran well until I adjusted my defense.

We can't seem to keep our superstar QB healthy, but fortunately our back-up led us to another victory as we barely held on to beat Cal 34-27.

Lost by 10, 38-28. We did have a kickoff return for a TD which is my first with this game. Some tough defense was played.
We started generating offense when we subbed our QB and put our backup in.

Blasted Yale, in the fourth quarter at least. Tight 21-14 game at the end of the third, then we drove for a TD, stopped Yale, drove for a FG, stopped Yale, and then they could not stop my "run up the middle while using the whole play clock" offense and we got another TD. 38-14, they get the ball back, we stuff them on 3 plays, and then with 3 seconds left on fourth down they decide to punt the ball. Come on, either take a knee, or throw one more desperation pass. They blow the coverage and we return the punt for a TD. Sorry Yale, I tried not to run up the score.

I was screaming all sorts of expletives during this game, but we managed to pull out a victory 49-45 over Idaho. 35 total points scored in the 4th quarter.
Full story online. Instant Classic score of 1785. One interesting note - I gave up a hail mary TD pass at the end of the 1st half. I also gave up one at the end of the 1st half in my opening game. Very frustrating.

Nice first game. It was a game of wide point swings, and just when it looked like it was heading to OT, I got a pick 6 on the last play of the game!

I played an awful, awful game -- 3 patheticly stupid interceptions and a fumble inside the 10. Fortunately for me, San Jose State is even worse. I doubt I'll get away with a similar performance again.
