I've never had to wait in line utilizing early in-person voting by going during a weekday in the early afternoon, so, I'll do that. There's something about the in-person experience I like, and I never have full confidence that mailed ballots end up in the right place or are counted on or before election day. Especially this year.

I normally do early voting on Saturday morning and am going to do that again this year. The longest wait I've had is 5-10 minutes. I'll wear a mask and it shouldn't be any different than going to the grocery store. I don't trust the mail, especially with Trump making such a big deal about it.

My ballot will be delivered by mail, but I live a couple blocks from an election office and I will probably drop it there myself.

I went with "in person" but, honestly, I might flip.

It's a genuine no-win for me. I have zero confidence in the mail, but I also haven't worn a mask for anything that wasn't wife-related yet and am loathe to break that stance even for this.

Right now I'm probably more accurate a "not sure" or "don't know"

If early voting were not a thing in NC, I'd not be sure, but early voting makes it easy.

Since KY is giving us 3 weeks of early voting there's no reason I can't find an hour to go vote in-person. That way I'm only chancing my vote being stolen by Putin instead of Trump OR Putin.

I am surprised that this board (which I assume by and large is white and suburban and has access to polling places that can be kept reasonably safe) is leaning toward mail in.

I generally do mail in voting, in fact in the last 16 years have only gone to the polls twice. 2008, because it was the first year our daughter voted and she wanted to go a polling station, so I went with her and in 2016 only because I forgot to send my mail in ballot by the deadline and didn't want to risk not having it counted.

dola, the reason I vote mail in is because our polling place is usually busy and up until this year, our company did not make a concession for taking time off to vote and November is a busy time of the year, so it was just less hassle.

This brings up a question I've been meaning to ask, with all the brouhaha around mail-in ballots: is early voting a rare thing? They had it in SC and have it here in NC. I vote in most primaries and all generals, and I haven't had to wait more than like 3 minutes since 2008, so I plan to vote early, in person, as per usual.

Most likely early voting. We had a real convenient early polling place previously, but they didn't open it on the last election. If they don't open it, then I will have to do it in town, which almost always means a wait.

You can kind of do it, by requesting an absentee ballot in person at the election office and voting their on the spot. PA does have mail-in and one PAC sent an application almost filled out. Likely to vote in person as the wait wasn't bad last time I voted.

Washington has been exclusively vote by mail for many years now, and I wouldn't ever go back - it's fantastic. We'll most likely drop off our ballots at an official drop location. There's usually quite a few anyway, and with all the noise about the USPS this time around I expect the county will open up even more official drop box locations.
