I agree with this assessment. You also have to add in the factor that he's the best quarterback the Lions have had in decades (that bar is very low), which makes him even harder to get rid of.

Looks like they got off cheap.

A judge has put the settlement on hold, due to the amount possibly not being enough.

Don't feel bad. I also thought Smith to the Bucs made a ton of sense and I thought they'd be a much better team than they were under Schiano. Maybe it wasn't Schiano after all? Maybe the cupboard there is much more bare than we were all led to believe?
