Ladder & Pyramid - New rule proposal - Player transfers/leaving early
Should we consider players leaving for draft or transferring rules? - Front Office Football Central
Some owners seemed supportive of the following new rules: 1. If players want to transfer out, let them. 2. If they are projected to go in rounds 1-3, let them go. If they are projected to go in round 4-7, you can try to persuade them to return. Edit: 3. If a player is rated 90 or higher, let them go to the draft. Can I propose an amendment to the proposed rule. The round projections are sometimes messed up, so I would add if they are rated 90 or higher, you let them go to the draft. It would make things more challenging on all of us, but I'm all for it.

Is this going to be an honor system deal or will the commish run the stage for everyone?
Also is this for both leagues? I think if wwe implement it for the ladder it needs to go in for the pyramid as well for uniformity sake Last edited by CU Tiger : 03-12-2015 at 06:33 PM. |

I think its a solid idea, both leagues should adopt it.

I don't think I can run it for everyone. I'm good with it being for both leagues. Everyone in both leagues can vote. |

I haven't played this version very much, but do players you make promises to so they will not transfer hold you to those promises with any consistency? I would have lost a guy that is starting for me now but he stayed when I promised him that he would reach some reasonable statistical goals. If I had lied to him and he was going to still be on the bench, wouldn't he just transfer after this season? If it is broken, then I'm all for a house rule. If it works reasonably, I'd rather not lose a guy that will start for me next season because of an arbitrary house rule.
As for the draft house rule, I have no problem with that. It seemed too easy to talk guys out of leaving early. |

The only thing about the draft rule that concerns me is as we build depth I have seen a lot of 85+ RS Sophomores who have never started declare for the draft. Often creating a situation where you recruit to build depth and your starter and next years starter both leave. This is after recruiting season so you cant "fix it" through recruiting.
Just thinking out loud here but I had that issue last season in one of my leagues where I had 2 senior DEs and the Soph wanted to go to draft. If hed leeft wed have been decimated at the position. To be fair I cant remember what round he was projected to. Id support it, with the above caveat. If we see that as an issue maybe add a clause in the future about them being Juniors or up havingt o let them go. very very rare for a RsSo to declare IRL. |

I think there is a slight miscommunication here - These are leagues for the Video Game NCAA 14. We're not discussing any real life stuff in the messages above.
Either that or you are one of the more believable bots I've come across.
