"On the home front, PlayStation®Home gives everyone their own apartment to spend time in and entertain friends - who will now be able relax on exclusive Ligne Roset furniture. At the virtual store, people will be able to choose from a selection of the most popular Ligne Roset designs, including the iconic Togo and Facett upholstery collections. It will be possible to personalise furniture by selecting from a wide selection of fabrics and leathers allowing a unique and individual look. This is an opportunity to get acquainted with Ligne Roset’s cutting edge designs created by some of Europe’s most talented designers."
Ummmm.. I didn't know there was a large demand of the gaming community to get acquainted with talented european furniture designers. Red Bull flying. Cool. Picking out swatches. Not so much.

I'm not sure that anyone really knows what to expect once Home goes live. I'm sure there will be a few things that work well and some that don't. I'm expecting monthly upgrades over the first few months to cater to what people request like. Once the upcoming free MMO's come out next year, I'm sure that Home will play a big part in creating the party system for those games.
The Red Bull stuff looks like fun. |

I have been in the beta for some time and to tell you the true i'm not impressed or find it useful for anything but to chat with people and walk around. Hope they will keep adding things.

I've been amazed at the hype this has gotten despite the fact that I see no real use for it. |

I set it up on my PS3. The first few times I tried to sign in (a couple hours apart each time) it wouldn't sign in. Finally did. I had never looked into this, so I wasn't sure what it was. Cool little feature, though not sure how much I will use it. I had fun running around and making dumb comments/jokes to other people since I had a bluetooth headset on and most people didn't. I can't imagine spending any money on there though. Maybe if it became like a Sims Online thing the wife would, but yeah, it's more for a distraction on a really boring day I am guessing.

I spent most of the last couple nights playing the new Tomb Raider on the PS3, but I haven't even bothered to download Home yet.
Maybe tonight? |

More of the same. Sounds like a trap for non-gamers (console chimps) to waste time and money.

Dola.
No. I have no idea why I despise consoles so much, so just skip my vitriolic comments.

Looks like someone found a use for it:
"Quincying" is sweeping through Home. Someone should have typed "That's hot!" Last edited by Kodos : 12-18-2008 at 02:02 PM. |

My brother showed me Home on the weekend. I can't imagine why anyone would bother with it, nor why it was released in the first place. The fact that you have to wait in line to bowl or play one of the arcade machines blew my mind.

Looks like EA Sports is putting together a pretty nice place on home with several online games to play. Video link..........

Eh. I checked in with Home the other day and it just annoyed me. It seems updates had been done since my first visit, so I had to re-download EVERYTHING, every location, the initial download. It sucked. Nothing was new that I noticed except the fact that they censored the whole place and made it so you can no longer talk on a mic.
There were people there though, still doesn't seem like this is anywhere near something to promote about PSN though.

So, does anyone actually spend any time on Home now?

They're just now starting to add anything of merit. EA's got a nice room. I still play the Red Bull game occasionally. The big boost to Home will be when they start putting the free MMO games out there. Those tend to draw very well. Home's well-suited to that kind of gameplay. I'm not sure there's a whole lot to do at this point.

Umm no, just tested it for like 15 minutes when it was released. Can't see the use of it unless you want to make online friends or flirt. But i must admit i'm not a big fan of online interaction besides forums.

fooled around with it for a while when it first came out. deleted it fairly quickly. The interaction is really nothing special except for games like Warhawk, where you can strategize pre-game, but the bigger issue (to me) is the games. Whether it's bowling or the arcade games, if somebody else is playing, you can't.
If I wanted to wait in line to play stuff, I'd find a real live arcade that's actually doing well, and go stand around there. |

Just for kicks, I played around with this last night for a bit. Didn't notice anything really different, although I did have to redownload each area that I went to. Seems like it is just a place for sad guys to try to hit on "girls".
