It was tough. I love fresh, fried Trout. Catch it in the morning. Clean it, and eat it for dinner. Its pretty darn tasty. But I went Bacon.

Really, though, for the first time I voted 'trout' because my real choice ('no') was not available.

And our vegetables are grown in shit.

Not to mention, bacon doesn't come from the skin of the pig.

My city has a restaurant called "Bacon." It has 8 varieties of bacon, but if you feel overwhelmed you could just get the bacon sampler. They also have free downtown delivery. So I could get some Kurobuta herbed bacon right now without even leaving my desk. Boise is more metropolitan than you think.

I'm not sure that having bacon available for hand delivery is necessarily an indication that Boise is more metropolitan lol.

As far as I know, nobody has ever died from bacon intake (other than cholesterol).

Over time? Bacon has definitely contributed to countless heart attacks, strokes, and deaths.

If we're encompassing the entire world of sausage (ie not just breakfast sausage), I have to say no. It's something I've grown to appreciate a lot over the past few years.

It's funny that this thread is up. I'm sloooooow baking a huge slab of uncured pork belly tonight. I just seasoned it with sea salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder and smoked paprika. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, but it smells AMAZING.
