Pretty much yep.

This is year 3 of Nagy, and it's the same story over and over. I've been a Nagy apologist for a long time, and I'm done.

Pace needs to go as well. As does Ted Phillips.

I don't care enough anymore to really be called a fan, but even defined loosely, Lions fans are used to this. This franchise finds a way. If there's not a path to defeat, we'll invent one. My personal favorite growing up is when we decided not to cover Sterling Sharpe because there's no way Brett Favre could throw it all the way to the end zone. Yeah.

But there have been so many. We are the perfect team for this to happen to.

I think it's kind of amusing the people talking about how we needed to lose anyway. As if the Lions would know what to do with high draft picks if they got them. We might draft good players but we'll either ruin them or they'll get sick of us and retire/leave. We are where successful coaches, executives, and players go to fail.

** Not bitterness, it's just the way it is. Personally I'm waiting for the next version of Wayne Fontes infamous 'we're the best **** 0-4 team in the league' pronouncement.

And if you ever wanted a dark view view of humanity, just remember that people would rather pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to watch the Lions lose a meaningless football game rather than feed and/or shelter the hungry.

Something is terribly wrong when sports analysts are suggesting Nagy is actively sabotaging to prove he's right.

Do I believe it? Not really. I just think he has no idea how to adapt to the players he has.

I'm not surprised the Colts are 0-3 but I am surprised at how bad they've looked.

What's the saying? Never ascribe to malice what is better explained by incompetence?

The good news for y'all is that Fields is going to be attractive to an incoming coach. Y'all should probably have your pick of people this offseason.

In yesterday's NYG-ATL game, the Giants had a 4th and 3 on the Atlanta 39 yard line. Joe Judge had three options.

1) Go for it.
2) Kick the FG (~57 yard, very long but makeable by Gano)
3) Punt it

Joe Judge opted to punt. How many HCs still punt on a short 4th down inside their opponent's territory anymore? It's either FG or go for it.

Last week against Washington, the Giants D intercepted the ball late in the game and the Giants had in on Washington's 20. Instead of trying to the TD, they made it clear they were settling for the FG. Inside run, inside run, incomplete pass to a receiver short of the 1st down marker anyway.

Judge says all the right things, but he was not ready to be a head coach. He coaches scared.

The first field goal was terrible also. 4th and goal from the 7. You have to go for it. If you miss fine, make Matt Ryan go 93 yards to burn you.

Yes, last week's game was ridiculous. That interception occurred at around 2:15 left. They ran 3 crappy plays - 2 runs and a 3rd and long incomplete pass IIRC - kicked the FG and gave the ball back to WFT with a timeout PLUS the 2 minute warning left (that's how little time they ran off the clock), only up by 2.

They played that last drive as if they had a 6 point lead and WFT had no TOs left.

Great that Matthew Stafford is doing so well. Makes you wonder what could have been if he hadn't landed with the Lions.

I can't tell - is that good-natured ribbing between friends or is there some big grudge I don't know about? It seems really out of character for Peyton to savage someone since he's worked so hard for so long to build a "good guy" image.

dola: except I probably wouldn't b/c the Mannings clearly put a lot of work into seeming casual. Whereas the Ryans would probably just show up half-drunk and try to wing it, and that never works.

Bears ownership does something right - just announced they won the bid and have a purchase agreement in place to buy a fuckton of land in the suburbs (Arlington Heights). They desperately need a new stadium.

It's the no-brainer $$ play to build palaces out in the burbs. But I miss the old right-in-the-heart-of-things stadiums like RFK and Soldier Field.

Yeah, Soldier Field's location is/was beautiful.

But the fact a top market team doesn't own its own stadium, and has the smallest seating capacity in the league (not to mention a myriad of other problems with Soldier Field) has long been utterly absurd.

Is Brady going back to NE really as big a deal as some are making it out to be?

Dan Patrick and Rich Eisen are saying shit like it is going to break ratings records. Is it really that big a deal?

It's not that big a deal to sports fans. It's more of a big deal in that it will likely draw the same types of people who watch the super bowl but are only casual sports fans. This is like an Olympics human interest story but with names people know and/or have an opinion about.

In the Boston area it's one of the biggest sports things of all time. Using one metric (and there's obviously an inflation aspect), it's the second most expensive ticket in Boston sports history after a Stanley Cup Game 7. Bigger than any Red Sox World Series game, bigger than any Patriots AFC Championship game. Patriots fandom right now is kind of a fascinating mix on the spectrum between rooting for the Patriots and/or rooting for Brady, though I think most of us root for both.

Tangibly as far as what the game means, it really doesn't matter that much. But I bet it'll be the most watched Sunday night game in years and years.

Edit: Boston was always kind of a hockey town first, with people getting excited about the other teams when they were good, but it's clearly a Patriots town now.

So its time for my beloved Cardinals to make a statement against the Rams-they have lost like 8 straight and Murray has never beaten them. Play the total complete game like they did against the Titans or our defense isn't really that good like the last 2 weeks and go to 0-9 against them.

I am not sure why it wouldn't be a huge deal. I mean, I get it. Hype is more overwhelming today than ever before. But that QB coming back to that stadium to face that organization and that HC given the 20 year history they all had been through together seems like a huge deal to me at least for the first quarter or so. The only things that are missing to make it perfect would be if the Patriots were a better team and there were guys like Bruschi or Harrison on the defense facing or better yet Jimmy Garoppolo as QB1 for the Patriots.

Remember when there were debates about Darnold or Rosen being the better QB? So glad to see Darnold with a real organization and coach.
