Hence the somewhat inferior roster comment (81 vs. 79). Plus, we were playing at your place. So we overcame some disadvantages today. And yesterday.

Missed it. Long day. We have to win next week in our road trip to take on SirFozzie and his Boston College Golden Eagles to keep our bowl hopes alive. I think we can do it, but Georgia and USC don't make it easy. Getting Syracuse in week 15 at home helps. Last edited by Galaxy : 09-23-2008 at 12:29 AM. |

I'm not looking forward to being on the other end of the Locker experience, but it should be a fun game.

Week 15 is something you really can't control. With three ACC RFL members, I'm expecting one of them to make it to the ACC championship game every year. That's partly why I propose moving our yearly game to that weekend as well. |

I'm probably not going to be able to play, Karlifornia, with the time frame being so different. If he wants to play the game against the CPU, I will not object.

Well if it's unworkable....I'll play against the CPU..It just seems a little unfair to you..I'm trying to think of when we could do it... If it comes to that, how do I even play against the CPU?

If you need me to, I can set SirFoz's team to autopilot. Then you can play against the cpu.

Sorry for the lack of whistles this round. It's been tough finding free time to do it. Luckily I still get paid the same whether I do stuff or not.

Well, our schedules appear to be quite incompatible. Like, on a legendary level. If SirFozzie is okay with that, then I will play the CPU...I admit I would feel a bit dirty doing so...but, since I appear to have his unbridled blessing, I am fine with it. I just don't want to sim the fucking game..ha

Northwestern and Minnesota provided high comedy at the Metrodome. We win the coin toss, elect to receive, and promptly fumble the kickoff return. The Wildcats bring it back for a touchdown. The next two Gopher drives end with interceptions, and the first quarter ends with Northwestern on top, 21-0.
Somehow, as the game goes on, we manage to fight back. Down 41-31 in the fourth quarter, we have 4th and 5 at Northwestern's 6. Kicker, stay on the sideline! If we can't get into the end zone here, we don't deserve to win! Well, we don't get in. I figure that the game is pretty much over at that point. Behold! The Gophers fight back again! We hold them to a 54-yard field goal attempt that falls just short, and we've got the ball back with under 3:00 to play and all of our timeouts. We put together a quick-but-not-quick drive and score a TD with 0:16 on the clock and still all of our timeouts. Oh, how I wish we'd kicked that field goal before. We recover the onside kick and have a few seconds to get into field goal range. Two passes and 35 yards later, we're lining up for the game-tying field goal. Naturally, the Wildcats call timeout to ice the kicker. From 44 yards away and a chance to tie... the ball hits the top of the crossbar and falls back onto the field. The kick ends up being inches short, and the Gophers are 2-7. Northwestern 41, Minnesota 38. I actually saved highlights of the onside kick and the field goal attempt, but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to watch them again.

Yeah I got cocky in my game with CSU. I was actually down 10 points at one time. I need to be methodical with my offense, I am not going to stop a lot of teams with my defense as it is sucking right now.

Looks like we have a decent chance of advancing tonight, as we only have two games left and USC/Washington is scheduled for tonight, I believe. Not sure how many folks have recruiting left to do. I know I have about 7 hours left to do. |

As payback for last week, Penn State has signed every recruit on the Ohio State board.

Yep. Definitely true. The way things were going, I didn't think I'd have a realistic chance at getting that close to the end zone again, so I went for it. Of course, I was wrong. We did get into the end zone again, and we lost the game.
If I remember correctly, we have Michigan coming to visit next week. Wouldn't it be a shocker if we pulled that one out?

I see that we got 3 big recruits to sign this week including the #1 QB in the nation, albeit a Juco. We also got the #1 Athlete and the #2 WR who should both be big weapons for us next year.

EF I noticed that you were recruiting that JUCO QB. I'm definetely interested in seeing what his ratings are going to look like next year.

If Sanchez leaves early, he has an excellent chance to be a starter as I'm not enamored with Mustain or Corp.

Clemson defeats BC 49-14....426 yards of total offense. Over 200 passing and over 200 rushing. Highly touted freshman QB Willy Korn played in the 4th quarter, and had 1 TD and 1 INT.
8-0 heading into a big big matchup with Florida State

The Huskies roll on towards an unlikely BCS Bowl Game, defeating USC 34-31 on a last second (literally) field goal. Here was the play of the game:
Tie game at 31, 1:46 left in the game. USC has the ball on their own ~40 yard line. 4th and 2! I'm gonna do a recruiting update when the week gets advanced...either before or after my pivotal game with Florida State...probably after...I'd be too tempted to drop it halfway through and start the game.
Man, I can't wait until we get to the postseason...gonna have some big games goin on.
