Seriously. If you watched The Florida Project and you thought to yourself, that's a nice bit of drama and exaggeration. Then you need to read that.

I'm a bit worried about the Continuing Resolution lasting only until December 11. If Trump loses, I wonder if he'll shut down the government out of spite.

I don't understand why those people just don't pull themselves up by their bootstraps. I hear its really easy if you're willing to work hard.

Because he could possibly lose more Senate seats if there was inaction?

It's not clear to me who the public blames "more" for this stalemated game of chicken though.

Not an excuse, but sometimes folks don't know what is available in life outside of the one they are living.

I had so much to learn about the world before I joined the USAF. Had I not, I would still be pretty ignorant of the world.

I really hope the girl from that article makes it into the military. It will definitely change her life for the better.

BREAKING: Gov. Abbott issues proclamation CLOSING (as of Oct. 2) satellite offices where voters can drop off completed mail-in ballots.
Counties can only have 1 dropoff point, he says.
Travis has 4, including 3 downtown.
Harris has 12.

Got to do something to keep people from voting.

Doesn't matter if it Dallas, Harris, Travis, Bexar, or Tarrant counties where there are millions of people, or if it is Brewster or Loving counties with a couple of hundred. Only one drop off point. Makes perfect sense.

I saw 4.8 million people in Harris County and now 1 drop off.

I used to get a lot of flack for saying the GOP is building an apartheid state, but now I mostly get resignation from the left and scoreboard, bitch type bragging from the right.

On the one hand, it’s good that the GOP is being punished for their horrific policy positions over the last 20 years by being unable to win free and fair elections—even in places like Texas

On the other, it is really bad they they seem more likely than not to get away with canceling free and fair elections.

Bonus points if it's due to Covid restrictions while they completely open up the economy.

There's nothing scarier than our election system being influenced by legally registered voters.

Reading an NBC article on my phone about how well the GOP is ramping up its voter registration in key states, like FL. Since March, GOP has doubled registrations over Dems in FL.

With DeSantis in charge, I'm assuming Florida is already lost

I agree, but we've got to get out of this mindset.

We've all just kind of internalized that if the GOP in in charge of a swing state, the Dems will be blocked from winning it.

That's . . . not sustainable in the long term.

I'm curious what the GOP math is on how they see a win happening. It's obvious Florida is a key, but they had pulled ads in Pennsylvania and Michigan which you'd think are also key states for a Trump win. There aren't many realistic scenarios where Trump loses those 2 states and still wins.

I believe the answer is they want to keep it close by defending NC, FL, OH and GA and give Trump a chance to win in the courts.

Trump thinks they can flip MN, NV and NH which all seem unlikely. If this were any other nominee they'd be pivoting to save the Senate.

Minnesota is a weird state (lived there for awhile). Fairly white and he's going real hard on the racist stuff in it. They must see something in the numbers that others haven't yet.

In a move surprising no one...more voter suppression by the GOP: Texas governor to close mail-in ballot drop-off boxes, limiting one per county

Sorry Abbot, but, you don't get use Covid as an excuse when you've been doing next to everything to act like it's not a big deal.

PA House Republicans had a house member on the floor who was Covid positive, while most of their delegation refuse to wear masks. And they're working on legislation to attempt to steal the election.

Great, I now live in cold Florida.

538 did a bit on Minnesota. The thesis is that it has been traditionally the bluer of the Midwestern states because a lot of the rural whites there have tended to be Lutheran and leaned Democratic.

Now, that lean is going away. And it is actually a pretty rural and white state, so it is trending red more quickly than the other Midwestern states.

Trump's camp sees that, and I think is trying to get it to jump red a cycle or two early. (Also, it is a cheaper state in which to compete, and they seem a bit money strapped).

Didn't this happen like 3 months ago? Or is this the second time? I specifically remember a Dem PA house member throwing a fit on a video several months ago about a GOP house member who was positive and who only told GOP members while they all carried on business as usual.

How close did Trump get to Biden at the debate?

Biden's people have to assume anyone in Trump's orbit has it b/c they aren't taking precautions.

Also, happy for the media who has an excuse to show a bunch more Hope Hicks footage in the background.

Wait, why is Trump quarantining while waiting for test results? If he doesn't get tested, he can't have it, right?
