By Alex Marvez Sun-Sentinel Posted March 25 2003 PHOENIX -- The Dolphins have contacted the agent for Chargers Pro Bowl linebacker Junior Seau, who is expected to be released after June 1. Agent Marvin Demoff described the talks Monday night as "casual" and exploratory in nature. Seau is on the trading block as San Diego tries to create room under the salary cap. Seau, 34, said he will not return to the Chargers after the team gave him permission to seek a trade. Seau missed three games last season because of injury. He had surgery in January to remove bone spurs from his left ankle. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Seau has gone to 12 Pro Bowls during his 13-year career, all with the Chargers. San Diego drafted him in the first round (fifth pick) in 1990.
