I got all irresponsible, AKA it's a new car!

I figure this may be the last chance I'll have in my life where I can just get all stupid and splurge on things I don't really need. So I bought this:

2005 Mustang GT, 4200 miles.

Cue anti-American car rants. But I've had my eye on one of these since their release in 05. Still need to finalize a couple things before I can drive it home, but I signed off on it today.

It instantly becomes my Spring to Fall car. Currently I'm driving a 99 Wrangler that'll become my winter vehicle. If I didn't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to drop back on this purchase would have been pretty much an impossibilty to me.

I like the car but I'm not crazy about the red interior.

I didn't like the red at all when I first started looking a year ago, but it grew on me to the point of being neutral on it.

And to be perfectly honest it looked real nice in person, defintely better than the photo, which I wasn't expecting. Doesn't look as bright and it's leather.

I would have gone for the convertible. We rented the new Mustang a few times on vacation - it's a nice car.

Hehe, I understand the red comments completely .

As for the convertible, I really wanted one. My Wrangler has a soft top and I LOVE driving around in the summer with the doors off and top down, I'm going to miss it.

But in the end I decided to get it cheaper, without a convertible. On the plus side it performs better without the convertible top, since the motor to get that thing up and down weighs a couple hundred pounds.

Sounds like a good get with it being a couple years old and having that little mileage.

If that red was tan or dark brown, it'd look 1000% better, at least to me. But the new Mustangs are nice cars. I like the retro-70s look of the gauges.

Plus points for being a manual..

I would have had to flog you sir if it was an automatic. Sports cars with automatics are like hot girls without vaginas. Fun to look at but, really can't enjoy them to their fullest...

Bought my Jeep with a manual, drove it home from the dealer having never used one before, that was a fun couple weeks .

Now I don't ever see myself getting an automatic again until I'm an old man in a big boat of a car.

Red Leather in a black car is pretty awesome. I'd do it in red or purple actually. Good deal

The convertible is just little too loud though. We rented one for our Honeymoon.

Nice car. I've got an '04 Mustang, the last of the old body styles. I love the new look and wish the totaling of my old car had happened a few months later to enable me to get the new body style, but I have had a ton of fun with my 'Stang. Enjoy!

My father's got one. Damn thing's like a go-cart. At 6'3 it's a comical sight seeing me in it, and even more hilarious seeing my entry and exit.

Very nice car and i do love the interior. Here is the one i am waiting on. Should be able to pick this up right about the time my son is ready to drive and he will take over my 2006 Rav4.

Either this one or the orange convertible

Having picked this up yesterday after a week of painful waiting and driven it all over the place the last 24 hours. I just have to say, "God damn..."

Yes, life is sweet . Until the deluge of upcoming speeding tickets and the insurance hikes they bring force me to sell it that is.

I am an old man. I used to feel this way, but after my last manual I decided it would be my "last manual." I'm just to old to work that hard to drive. The new auto's (especially with the 6 speed trans that you can manually shift) are so much better than they used to be.
