Who will you be in NCAA 2004?
All this talk of NCAA 2004 has got me excited about starting a new dynasty.
I'll have to wait a while because it is shipping to the UK but I was wondering what teams people will start with? Do you start small and stay with the same team all through the same dynasty or do you move when you get a better job offer? Last year I started with Kent State and wanted to build a program from scratch. The problem was that even with sliders after 3-4 years my team would win every single MAC game by 10-30 pts. I ended moving to a new job and leaving all these great players that I recruited just for a change. If the new conference change feature works properly then I'll probably start with someone in one of the smaller conferences again and try to get them to one of the BCS conferences. |

Probably get the wife to join me in a Furman or Clemson dynasty, although I'd prefer an Ohio State or other dynasty. I also enjoy taking crap teams like Vanderbilt, Rutgers, and some low-life from the MAC and building them up. Perhaps since you can move conferences now, this will encourage me to not jump ship.
Maybe I'll revive the old Vandy dynasty I started with my wife that died when she lost interest.

Always have to play with Kansas State to start off.
I usually pick a real crap team also to build up, but that's pretty random. |

Woohoo! I'm doing the Furman dynasty. Why Furman if I may ask? Oh, and fuck Vandy, assholes. (Our old coach accepted the Vandy job like the day after the D-1A championship game, which he coached like shit, the fucker) |

I will be myself, of course.
I will probably create a school that I, myself, will control, and make them an independant, or throw them in the SEC or something.

Well for me I'm going to start with Florida State and after building them back up to a steady contender I'll go looking for the weakest team and do the same.

I lived in Greenville, SC with my wife for 3 years, and she grew up there. Furman is the nearest school to there, and her dad used to take her to Furman games a good bit. Watched with horror as they were dismantled by Montana a couple of years ago in the D-1AA championship game. If they could ever get past GA Southern in talent level, they'd be a real D-1AA power.

I'll make a team. Probably call them the Everton Roughriders like in 2003. Put them in the Big 12.

I'm sure I'll start with Northwestern. But then I'll probably switch every three years because I get bored with the team. This year I started with OU, and left after three years because they'd be pissed with two Cotton Bowl titles and one (non bcs-title) Rose Bowl championship. Then I went to Stanford where I won two Sun Bowls before winning a National Championship at the Sugar Bowl. Now I'm at Tulsa where I just got a 2-star prestige team in the top 25 because I beat two ranked teams in a row...too bad I inexplicably lost to a terrible Boise State team, otherwise I'd be on fire. Have a tough game at top-ten Fresno State, probably won't win, but we'll see. I love running the option wherever I go, except at Stanford where I had a throwing QB, so we just threw, threw, and threw. But, I'm still partial to that Rice playbook.

I'll probably do the same thing I did with NCAA 2003 - play as Washington for a while playing every game.
After I get tired of kicking the AI's butt on a consistent basis I'll probably go into sim-mode, doing all the recruiting and roster decisions and setting run and pass percentages preferences but sim the games. I'll likely start off with a small western school like Idaho or Montana or something like that, and hope to work my way up to a job offer from Washington. |

Yeah, GA Southern sucks. I was at that Montana game, our fans made no noise, it was a disgrace. If you ever decide to come back in the next year, stop by Furman and we'll do a kegstand or something. |

Talking of UTEP has anyone noticed in NCAA 2003 how UTEP always become a Powerhouse after a few years.
I remember simming a dynasty and UTEP were Top 5 every year from Year 10 to Year 30. I think it must be a side effect of the huge number of good recruits that Texas had in the game. |

Missouri of course! Go Tigers!!
First, I'll have to contact Linder again at ps2rosters.com so I can have the players names. I'll get some good practice time in while waiting on those. Hopefully, by that time I'll have some decent sliders to start with as well. Todd |

I will pick Baylor for the Big 12 dynasty vs. my roommate, and create Beloit College in the Big Ten in the second dynasty.
There is something fun about taking an underdog and making them good after a few seasons. . . |

You're right on that point. UTEP, TCU, UNT, and SMU seemed to always become great after a few years. There are so many great recruits in Texas, that it was hard not to get some good ones. It made for quite a shock when I did my first non-UTEP dynasty (as CSU, I believe...)

I will be my alma-mater NC State and lead them the rest of the way to the top... Shouldn't be too bad since we are finally getting some ratings love...
Then I will probably take on a small nobody school maybe in the SunBelt Conference and see if I can get an invite to a larger conference and make it to a BCS bowl... |

I'll start with either Memphis or Tulane, and if I decide to do another dynasty (not likely), I'll create my alma mater University of New Orleans, and I'll drop us in our basketball conference, the Sun Belt. I'll even create a dinky little stadium for the Privateers to play in. Whee!

I'll create a team like a did last year. I put in 8 different teams (usually nicks from my buddies' long gone fantasy league) and stuck them in one conference. The new feature might inspire me to put all of them in different conferences to see if they get back together someday.
