Third WR on Depth Chart - Cortez Hankton?!?

I was reviewing some articles recently about the cuts and saw that the Jaguars chose to keep Cortez Hankton, an undrafted WR out of 1-AA. Then in another article on Micah Ross, I read that Micah is #4 on the Jaguars depth chart. Behind good ol' Hankton.

With Jimmy Smith's suspension, Undrafted rookie receiver Cortez Hankton enters the seasn as #3 on the depth chart.

I think that's the highest I've seen an undrafted rookie free agent start the season in a while. Maybe I'm just blind, because I don't look for them that often, but the 3rd receiver means you start a lot of offensive plays. Wow.

Matthew Hatchette will start in Jimmy Smith's position and this guy beat out Donald Hayes and Kevin Lockett. So I guess both Cortex and Matthew showed something.

Or won a coin flip.

Welcome to the modern-day, salary-cap strapped NFL.

Isn't Antonio Freeman still unemployed? Sheesh.

Hatchette is a good player, I like him a lot. Glad to see him get a chance to be the #1 someplace. I hope he has success. At the very least, he's getting a chance.
