Padres New Uniforms
I like new uniforms for teams, especially when they are a step in the right direction so here's a poll even if it's about the Pardres.
I kindof like those home ones. They remind of the navy and gold astros colors that I loved. And the alternate homes are almost identical to the old Astros jerseys. But the road uniforms and the block lettering. Gah! I'm no fashion expert but I know what ugly looks like. Also, I like their new logo: no more orange and brown! It's San Diego: team of the bland! SI

Their team name, the Padres, is a reference to monks, or "fathers." The alternate logo on the shoulder patch is a friar swinging a bat. Hope this clarifies things for you...

Being a long time Pads fan, I have seen quite of few uniform changes. The last two iterations (including this new one) still is too close to other teams, namely the Dodgers (look at the cap) and the Brewers. My favorite always had been the brown pinstripe ones that had in the late 1980s because it was a classic look with a unique color. But I do like the new logo because the colors work well together and it does provoke the image of San Diego, my favorite city. I know I am in the minority but I like the road uniforms better than the home ones because the latter is not distinctive from many others teams while the former does remind me of the real old school unforms of a hundred years ago. All in all, a good change to go along with their great new stadium. (If you haven't seen the pics yet, find them.)

They are not distinctive, but they are sharp. And I like the logo a lot.

Did they get bought out by the Boston/NO/Portland Breakers of the USFL?

I was going to say the same thing, but hey, at least they're stealing from a great logo. I also like the road uniforms. But then again, I like the Titans' light blue jersey/navy blue pant combo. And I liked those catastrophic Cavaliers uniforms from the mid-90s. I am not to be trusted on such issues. |

These new unis are pretty bland, but I must say that it hurts to see Brian Giles in a Padres uniform.

Put them back in the bright yellow and brown uniforms from the 80's. I am so sick of teams pussing out and going with bland boring blue and whatever other plain ordinary color they can find.
fucking losers. get a real uniform. |

The logo looks kinda like a soccer logo or one from a women's team if you ask me.

I like the home uniform, but not the road uniform. However, they will never ever be able to come up with a uniform that was worse than those yellow and brown atrocities they wore in the '70s.

Too bad they didn't do something original, like black jerseys or pinstripes! Seriously, they look nothing like the team my Detroit Tigers wiped the diamond with in '84. I miss the brown.
