Madden 2004 - Thoughts?

Can anyone give me some feedback on this game? Good? Bad?

Well, I have Madden 2004 - PS2 and love it. I hate having to buy memory cards, but the games seem much easier with the PS2 controller. For the first time I actually am starting to buy the sports games for PS2 rather than for Xbox.

Not sure what the differences would be. Graphics? Speed?

If I remember right, Madden 2004 for Xbox doesn't hook up to Xbox Live.

You are right about no Xbox live for Madden, but the speeds you can sim a season in are so much better on Xbox. You might as well go do something else when you want to sim on PS2.

Ok, I should change the title...rather than a comparison of Xbox and ps2, give me your thoughts on the game...the owner mode, etc.

Owner mode is sweet. I move the Raiders to Vegas, changed their logo, built a swanky new stadium, just to name a few things.

Drafting, free agency, and all the ancilary stuff like staffs, prices, etc. ... very well done.

If simming is fast on Xbox, I say go for it.

Be sure to snag a copy of NCAA as well. It's fun to go back and forth, drafting your college studs into the NFL.

I'd say get it on PS2. Even if you do it a one, two or a few times, it's pretty cool.

I like Madden 2004, but I do have some problems with it. First is you can't play owner mode for a created team. Another is with draft imports, the talent is way too deep. In the import I just did there were players with an OA of 70 still available in the bottem half of the 7th round. I also have had some issues with created plays on defense. Otherwise I really enjoy the game and if those things aren't an issue for you I think you will like it.
