PING: FBCB Dynasty Writers
hey, awhile back RPI mentioned getting together some of our past teams to play in a tourney. anyone interested in doing that still? i finally have a team from last season anxious to see what they can do against some of the other dynasty teams.

That would be a blast to read hollmt! Of course I wonder how you could balance it since people play teams at different prestige levels.

A tourney would be fun. How does it work? What do we do?
I've been saving games at the end of each season since 2010. My best team may have been 2009, but 2010 we weren't bad, as far as a 2nd-tier conference team is concerned. I oould use that team. I'm pretty sure they would get killed against a good team, but I've got no pride, so I'll put them on the sacrificial altar. I think we'd want about eight teams to run a tourney, wouldn't we? Would we be able to get enough teams? By the way, I think RPI is busy with, like, um, something or other involving ducks and goat cheese, I think. Anyway, I'm pretty sure he's busy and hasn't been playing FBCB lately. |

dola...
I'm not sure we could (or should) balance the teams. I'd be more looking at it as a fun exhibition. I'm ok with getting knocked out in the first round. |

i would be happy to run it if you guys want to send me your teams. i could report on each game like i do my own dynasty. i dont think the prestige issue would be that big of a deal really cause its just for kicks anyway. i guess we could do it like this:
1) send me 2 teams of your choice and give a brief bio of them for me as well as the pace/motion/defense settings (to make sure its properly set) as well as the proper depth charts if you remember them. they should save properly from your career, but i noticed mine were a bit different when i simmed my 2003 team and my current team. 2) ill take the 8 teams and draw randomly who will play against each other. 3) ill sim it out and post it on the dynasty thread and give out the results. any other ideas? edit: for some reason the puter was choosing its own recommendations on the depth chart and motion/pace/3pt settings...that is why if you remember what you used, send that to me. it doesnt have to be just dynasty writers. dont mean to exlude anyone else. by all means, any one else who wants to put a team in, say so. 8 teams is good...16 would be more than enough. i know we can at least get 8 teams anyway and down the road maybe we could do more.

I'm not sure I have two teams that are far enough apart time-wise. Give me a few days though and I could export the team from this year. I think they might be ok. That would give me 2010's team and 2013's team. Should work.
I'm with you on the more the merrier. If anyone's playing a current game and has a team they want to toss into the fray, feel free. |
