OT - Arrington to ESPN

Sorry for the possible dola but I haven't seen this mentioned here yet.

from http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sp...04/24jill.html

CBS football sideline reporter Jill Arrington is jumping ship to ESPN, which has several women in that field.

Arrington, who grew up in Conyers, will double her salary and take on expanded duties as a sports features reporter, according to USA Today. CBS declined to meet her request for a new deal.

Now, I don't know what Arrington was making, but ... doubling someone's salary? Is she that good? And does that really bring a good ROI for ESPN?

Just seemed a bit extreme to me.

doubling her salary to 30 grand a year should be workable under espn's cap...

"Arrington comes with some baggage -- including having posed for the racy men's magazine, FHM."

What an amazing difference in standards there is if you are not a former athlete.

Suzy Kolber has really come far. She was one of the first anchors for ESPN2 and now she's moderating between Jaws and that other dude on Edge NFL Matchup. I think they drown her out and that its a bit daunting. But she seems to do alright.

(the article mentioned Kolber, that's why I brought her up)

Why is that coming with baggage?

(and why did I not know she was in FHM? And when did "racy" get scaled back from Playboy to crap like FHM??)

Call me gay if you'd like, but seriously...she ain't that hot.

The long blonde hair makes her look like she should be doing coppertone commercials. This will not make me or other people i know watch more football.

Doesn't she host slam ball or something like that? Read her bio on her site...very funny shit.

Oh, and she looks to be about 39 years old on her website.

In the news today, Arrington has been traded to the sports network ESPN for Chris Berman and Stuart Scott. Berman will play Left Guard while Scott will be Cornerback. The 'Skins hope that Scott's trademark 'Boo-yah!' will so frighten opposing wide recievers that they will be unable to make plays.

I wish someone would post a picture of each of the top 6 because I don't want to go look for them and I can't remember what any of them look, except that ignorant dog they have on MNF (Lisa Guerrero?). There is one sideline female that absolutely stunned me but I forgot who it was. I think it may have been from the SB.

For my money, if you want to see a woman who REALLY knew her job as a sportscaster, look no further than CNN News anchor Daryn Kagan, formerly with CNN Sports.

After leaving sports and moving into news, Daryn provided live onsite coverage of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Columbia shuttle tragedy, the D.C. area snipers, Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill and Bono's trip to Africa, and the 2003 California wildfires (just to name a few).

I saw Jill Arrington in person at an AFL game a couple of years ago....I'm hyperventilating right now. She's truly, amazingly beautiful.
