Why are most pencils painted yellow?

The first line of successful pencils were painted yellow to be distinctive. Ever since, yellow has been the predominant pencil color.

I recognize in this situation that SirFozzie had more information on the subject than the rest of us, however, it still stands that John Galt had the correct answer. In the rules, if someone takes the correct answer, you are forced into a Malarky. You must come up with a bluff answer. Had SirFozzie posted his answer before John Galt, it would be noted as the correct answer. However since his answer came afterward, I'm unfortunately going to have to call it a bluff.
