Angry Leonard Little

They should lock guys like Little up a lot longer than 4 years. He's already killed someone, and obviously that didn't make him change his ways.

Rams: Little charged with felony

News
Defensive end Leonard Little was charged with a felony drunk driving count on Monday. Little was pulled over Saturday morning for speeding in Ladue, a St. Louis suburb. As reprinted in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, police officer Greg Stork noted in the affadavit that Little had "bloodshot, watery eyes and emitted an odor of alcohol." Stork also noted that Little "attempted and failed three (3) sobriety tests," and "admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages." Little faces up to four years in jail. He could also be suspended by the NFL for one year for being a repeat offender in the league's substance abuse policy. In 1999, Little pleaded guilty to an involuntary manslaughter charge after a drunken-driving crash resulted in the death of Susan Gutweiler. He spent 90 days in jail, completed 1,000 hours of community service, and served out four years of probation.

Little is one of the league's premier pass rushers, and the Rams would take a major hit if Leonard were unable to play this season. The Rams lost end Grant Wistrom to free agency, and their defensive line would look pretty weak without Little around to dispute opposing offenses. We'll continue to follow Little's case and provide updates as more information becomes available.

Yep, he got his warning, but in the eyes of the law his warning passed as he's off probation. Hopefully because he did this before, involving a fatality, he won't be able to plea bargain out.

But if that is the actual wording of the affidavit from the arresting officer, there is a pretty big loophole, in the absence of supporting video. The part about "emitted an odor of alcohol" has gotten people off before, since alcohol has no odor. One of my friends in college won his case because of this same wording.
