Boise City Stampede Of The AFL, A Fictional League/Team Dynasty

I figured I'd try another SP career with 2K4, and as long as i'm playin I might as well document it.

This league, like mostl my SP leagues so far will be fictional, with nicknames and cities culled from the various MP leagues. We start in 1900 and have a cap of $10 Million. Here is the league structure in the beggining.

The first thing I have to do as the President, GM and Coach of this team is find myself a staff, so off I go.

COACHING STAFF

Head Coach- Tyrone Bedford, 44 years old, 3 year contract. More of a motivator and disciplinarian than an X's and O's guy, he's not a groomer though and that could hurt development but I like what he brings to the table between Monday and Saturday enough to hand the reigns over to him.

Offensive Coordinator- Cedric Derosa, 62 years old, 4 year contract. An excellent developer and good with young players, he sort of offsets our head coach who lacks a bit in those areas. Obviously at 62 he won't be around very long but if we can squeeze 2 or 3 years out of him here to help develop our young O-Line and skill position guys than he will be well worth it.

Defensive Coordinator- Carlton Beckemeier, 58 years old, 3 year contract. Again, a veteran developer who excells at teaching all facets on the defense and is a whiz with young players.

Lead Scout- Roger Edmondson, 65 years old, 2 year contract, average or above in every facet, a real old pro who will help us get this organization off of the ground.

I think we have just the right mix with our coordinators and our coach, let the coordinators develop the players games and let the coach develop them as men and as field warriors, heres hoping they can do what I expect them to do.

TRAINING CAMP NOTES

QB Michael Infante is everything we had hoped, he has the arms and the smarts to be a true star in this league.
QB Orlando Casteel looks like he will one day be a solid backup/starter in this league, but he needs to develop.
QB Reuben Gillette looks much like Casteel, one day he'll be ready, just not yet.
RB Myles Cooper is a frigin stud, his pass game is still developing but as a pure runner, he is Jim Brownesque.
RB Lorenzo Peele has the speed and elusivness but not much else, he looks to a decent 2nd or 3rd option.
RB Kevin Welch has a solid running game, not fast or fancy but can carry the ball nicely, passing game will be quite good.
FB Jessie Saldivar strong as a bull, will be great, still developing his skills but oh man, a total all around stud.
FB Jesus Thorton is exactly what we expected, an ok blocker but a great short yardage guy and a stellar reciever.
TE Harvey Gamboa will need some time to develop but he has great blocking skills and will be a real nice reciever.
TE Carlo Washington is a veteran who looks like exactly what we figured, a great blocker and reciever and solid vet.
WR Chris Cushman is a total stud, a great all around WR and a great kick returner to boot, we got a gem here.
WR Werner Backus has shown us Cushman like skill in all areas except his hands, he needs to develop those but will be a star.
WR Elisha Post still needs to develop some, and his hands arn't great but he will be a solid WR with his deep threat ability.
WR Sidney Thomas has real solid hands, still needs to develop and will never be great but he will be a solid pro.
T Lee Pickerill has shown good pass block potential but his forte is the run, once he learns some more he'll be a monster.
T Darnell Pisklak is incredibly green but should really be a real solid all around Tackle soon.
T Quinn Ellwood is a finese guy more than bulldozer but he also looks like he'll be a real solid player.
C James Kenner will be a stud soon, he's raw but when he gets his feet wet he's gonna be a shark on the O-Line.
C Jose Amaral has starter ability but like so many other players on the team he is very young and raw.
G Andrew Faris is a bull, a developing baby bull, but a bull nonetheless, he's gonna be so good.
G Reed Barber is a solid Guard who is still developing and projects as an all world Guard, he's gonna be a great one.
G Will Collins looks real good, he's gonna be a starter quality player one of these days.
DE James Alderson is gonna be a pass rush nightmare for opponents, he has the strength now, technique needs work, but oh man.
DE Monty Alcott should be a solid all around player, he has average all around skills, a start/backup tweener but solid.
DE Walt Grembowski has smarts and quick feet, he can contain the run well and get to the QB, a real solid DE once developed.
DE Daren Zucker is a strong, hard hitting veteran who will provide us with a real solid pass rush right now.
DT David Rodgers has shown on us in camp that he can hunker down and stop the run adaquetley, doesnt do much else.
DT Stephen Dickens is much the same as Rodgers, they are specialist but we need a strong interior.
DT Freddie Kight has shown us the exact same as Rodgers and Dickens, while none of them are studs they are all quality.
DT Trevor Robey has shown some real good skill, he's a quality DT now but in a year or 2 he'll be a nice all around DT.

SLB Elmer Gorman is gonna be a super all around player, his man skills are average but everything else is super, developing.
WLB Gregory Leflore doesnt have good man skill but is a solid run stopper and real good everywhere else, developing but good.
SLB Derek Davis is gonna be a superior player, it's gonna be a real tough battle between he and Gorman for our future SLB.
WLB Kirk Endicott is a solid all around player, if develops fully he'll be starter material in this league, solid backup.
MLB Ryan Ralston has super bump and run skills and real good smarts, he may never be a starter but will be a quality 4th LB.
