Sure, if you can make it, I'll front you.

As for me, it all depends. That will be middle of the night over here. If I'm up with jetlag still, I'll be in.

I'm probably not gonna be able to make this one. I'm flying from Warsaw to Zurich today. Tomorrow I have a meeting in the morning, then a drive to Paris. Only if my insomnia is really bad will I be awake at 3am to play. Next weekend might be a better chance for me, as I'm flying back to the US on the 20th. If I stay up all night playing poker, I can just sleep on the flight back...

Jeeb, let me know if you are going to play, and I will transfer the $11 to your PS account.

At least I got something out of last night ... it apparently made me a better player.
I ended up with 4x my original stake in a .05/.10 LHe game.

Okay, I ain't exactly the last of the big spenders, but in my very limited experience,
it as the best performance I've had, so I'm pretty durned happy about it
pathetic, ain't it?

It's known in these parts as "The cartman poker subsidy" fund.

It varies, but the common bounty is paid when someone knocks me out of the tournament, and then finishes in the money. Without fail, the person who knocks me out ends up winning the tournament. In early tourneys, I would match what they win. Later on, it turned into $10 for 3rd, $15 for 2nd, and $25 for first.

I paid for a good part of Radii and Olliegirl's wedding with the bounties Radii won from me...

There have been other bounties, but mine, by far, have been the most lucrative for FOFCers.

Is that paid by Pokerstars or is it something you do yourself? And if you do it yourself, why? It definitely seems like a fun idea, but I don't know why you'd pay someone to knock you out.

It comes out of my pocket.

The original thought behind it was to get more people to come out and play. Since I won the first two tourneys, I thought it would add a little excitement to the game and get people to sign up. Also, I felt it would help me make my game a bit better, since people would be out to get me, to get a chance to take the bounty.

Since we've gotten to a bit of a stable size in the number of players, the bounty probably won't be a regular occurrance, but still might pop up from time to time.

Dola,

damn, tonight's the night I have insomnia. I fell asleep around midnight (in Paris), and just woke up a little bit ago, wide-awake. It's 2:30am here right now. If this happened last night, I'd be able to play Good thing my meeting tomorrow morning got cancelled! Nothing until a dinner meeting with a client.

I'm in agreement with the bigger tournament idea. Any tournament is fun, but a tournament where most of the groups poker players are there is that much more fun.

Hey TLK, why don't you suggest we have a regular tournament this week and then take 2 weeks off and aim for a bigger tourney on the 9th?

Suggestion time....

play this Sunday as normal, and then take the next two Sunday's off as they are holiday weekends. Then aim for a bigger tournament on the 9th of January....

thoughts?

I'm in both times most likely, unless something comes up, which isn't too likely, my Sundays are normally empty besides football watching. I will glady continue to be the worst player statistically in these things, nobody will ever take that role from me.

Sounds good. I'll set up the regular tourney for this Sunday. And next week, I'll send out an announcement for the Rectal Trout Championship 2005 (or whatever name you want to give it).

I know some of us might be in a financial bind, but what would you say about raising the buy-in for the big tournament? Say, $20+2?
