First Big News of the New Season

On July 5th, 2004, Tomas Fleischmann asked me to put him on the trading block. We hurt pretty badly when he went down to injury last year and now he wants me to give him away? I don't know....he says he wants to move to a stronger team. I'll place him on the trade block to see what I can get. Maybe I can snag a few picks for him. He is in his last year of eligability.

In the end, it didn't seem to matter as Washington, who owns his NHL Rights, decided to sign him to a deal.

Getting into the role as a GM of an NHL team has been Goal #1. The Nashville Predators have an opening and I applied for the job.

I set up a bunch of exhibition games.

First off, I created a Moose Jaw Cup tournament. I invited 2 OHL teams and 1 QMJHL team. The teams were Sudbury and Owen Sound from the OHL and Rimouski from the QMJHL (Yes, because I watn Crosby to come here. ). All three teams accepted the invite. It will start on September 1st and our opponent is Rimouski. I might have to watch that one.

I tried to make a tour of the USA but all 4 teams rejected. Going to try again.

I have scheduled a couple of more Exhibition games. A home game against Tri-City on Sept 7th, a home game against P.E.I. on Aug 27th and a home game against Kitchener on Sept 7th.

The curse of a WHL GM. It is sad to watch your star players toil in the minor leagues when they could be winning you championships and Memorial Cups.

I just finished my 4th season with Kamloops and I lost 8 starters from year 3 to the NHL, and the bastards only loaned back one of them. I was forced to go with 10 rookie skaters and 2 rookie goaltenders for the season. Despite that managed to finish 2nd with 105 points, only to lose in the 1st round for the 4th straight year
