OT: Madden 2005. How good is the simming aspect of the game?
CompUSA has the game on sale for $10 this week.
Before I go and pick it up, I wanted to get the opinions of those who have played it. All I want to do is sim and manage the game. I don't really care about actually playing a LIVE game. I just want to be the GM and control a team, payroll, draft and all decisions and just sim the games on a week to week basis. How is the game when it comes to this type of gameplay? My next question. How many years can you play in franchise mode on the PC version? Thanks I appreciate any feedback in advance.

Darn COMPUSA. I picked it up at WalMart for 15 and thought it was a steal.

I believe that 30 years is the max but not 100% certain.

From playing Madden 2005 on the PS2, the sim engine is not so good. It's not awful, but its not FOF or TPF. For $10, what do you really have to lose tho?

simming part sucks on madden 2005
its all random for win and lost results.. you can have the best team with alot of talent and if you keep resimming they will lose some games too |

Agreed. I paid full price for it when it first came out, and while I didn't get my money's worth out of the simming aspect alone, I definitely got 10 bucks out of it. |

Durring the draft the computer offered to trade their 1st round (29) for my 4th and 5th round picks.
The owner mode is unplyable. |

I've probably played about fifty or sixty years cumulatively, and I've never seen anything like that. In fact, most of the trades I've been offered during the draft I wouldn't consider at all. Just to offer an opposing viewpoint. I don't think it's a great sim, but it's not bad. I've seen much, much worse, and it has gotten better over the years, I think. It happened my first draft.
I was offered the 1st (17th) pick for my 2nd and 3rd round. I took the deal, so I didn't have 2nd or 3rd round pick. A little later it came back with the other offer. |

It would kinda suck if the same team won every time you re-simmed.
