When I saw the thread title with the espn/mlb link, I thought for sure this was going to be about Johnny Damon

I think the more facial hair on Randy Johnson the better. I shudder to think what he'll look like without a mustache.

He will just have to clean it up a bit, the Boss doesn't mind mustaches. Hopefully, the mullet goes though.

Who has ever had a mustache for the Yankees? The only one that comes to mind is Donny Baseball. Did you see the travesty that was Esteban Loaiza as a Yankee?!

Reggie Jackson had one.

Buck Showalter had a "no mustache" policy with the D-Backs when Johnson signed with them. It was mutually ignored in his case. The Yanks will do the same thing.

A whole slew of guys in the 70s and 80s. Thurman Munson, Ron Guidry, Jesse Barfield, Dave Winfield, Reggie Jackson, etc.

I'd make Jeter grow a mustache.

The Boss must have been more lenient back in the day. Gossage and Munson didn't exactly have nicely trimmed 'staches.

Steinbrenner didn't own the team back then.

He's owned the team since 1973. Gossage joined the team in 1978 and Munson was there when he bought the team.

I thought The Yanks had a no beard, not a no facial hair policy. Giants have one too.
