Weird OOTP issues.....

Yesterday I ran the offseason free agency period and lost a pitcher that I was going after to the yankees. I'm the Cards and we were coming off a World Series championship that year, and a world series loss the year before. The yankees had won 78 and 82 games each year and missed the playoffs. The guy we were going after was Joel Pineiro an all star pitcher coming off a 20-4 year with a 2.92 ERA.

I didn't attempt to make an offer untill week 6 of the signing period offering him 11.5 mill a year for 4 year contract. He responded back saying that the yankees had offered him a better contract b/c it featured more years. I came back the next week with 15 mill a year for 6 years[I really needed this guy to replace Pedro who is getting old, I expect him to give up any year now.] The following week he responds that the yankees still had a better contract, they offered more years and informs me he decided to sign with the yankees. So what do I do? I check the signing log, wondering exactly how many years they gave this dude. He signed a 4 year contract worth 9 mill a year. Not sure what to make of this, especially since he requires a winner and the yankees haven't made the playoffs since I started the career.

The next issue is where the game gave the "W" to the wrong guy. Here is the box score:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E
St. Louis 0 0 3 2 1 0 3 0 0 9 13 0
Cincinnati 0 0 0 1 2 2 0 0 0 5 11 1

And now my pitching breakdown:

St. Louis IP H R ER BB K HR PI PS ERA RECORD
P. Martinez 4 6 3 3 1 2 0 85 46 3.75
A. Benitez W 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 14 8 3.48 3-1
K. Calero H 0.2 3 2 2 1 1 0 22 13 3.50
T. Spooneybarger H 2.2 1 0 0 2 3 0 51 30 3.19
J. Pearson 0.2 0 0 0 0 0 0 5 3 3.63

It is a little hard to read, but when Pedro went out in the 5th, the score was
6-3, we were in the lead, the next inning the reds scored 2 more runs to make it 6-5 and we ended up winning it 9-5. How does Pedro not get the win there? Is there a rule where the starter has to pitch 5 innings in order to get the win? These two issues are really starting to make me sour on the game, I know most of you guys already gave the game up, but did you ever see any of these issues I have had?

The first issue makes no sense, but single player FA sucks in OOTP

Yep - a starting pitcher must complete the first 5 innings for the win.

Regarding the FA thing - I'm not sure if it's a bug or not...but in RL crap like this happens all the time. There are many players that string along teams hoping to drive up the market.

I would assume that at 6 million extra a year for 2 extra years, it had been driven up pretty far.
