Air Supply, Live in Cuba!
I have to admit, I just don't know what to say about this...
hxxp://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/news/entertainment/070805_APent_majorfans.html Why are members of Air Supply being treated like the Beatles? By The Associated Press (7/08/05 - HAVANA, Cuba) — Air Supply is performing in Cuba, where they're being treated like the Beatles. A Cuban newspaper says Air Supply are "idols for thousands of Cubans." The paper writes "we would never have imagined that one day they would come here -- and here they are!!" Fans went nuts when the group sang "All Out of Love" and their other hits in their first concert Thursday night. They perform again Friday at the Karl Marx theater. Dola,
A longer article from what looks like the Cuban media: Air Supply Puffs before Hurricane Gusts Havana Ahora.cu / 08-07-2005 Pop-rock duet Air Supply captivated over 100,000 people who attended the concert held at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune in Havana waterfront on Thursday night. On their first visit to Cuba, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock sang the songs that made them famous in the 80´s like Goodbye, Here I Am, Every Woman in the World and Sweet Dreams, among others. Despite a brief heavy shower that delayed their performance, the audience was in front of the outdoor stage to see their performance, and most knew the lyrics to the songs. A climax of the show was when Hitchcock honored the victims of the terrorist blast that gripped London on Thursday. Air Supply has continued the dynasty of memorable performances on the island by famous worldwide rock figures such as British keyboard player Rick Wakeman and US group Audioslave. hxxp://www.ahora.cu/english/SECTIONS/culture/2005/julio/08-07-05.htm (hxxp'd for those of you whose companies are monitoring your communist activity) |
