Bucs @ Pats
Southern teams can really define themselves by beating good teams up north. This ain't one of those times...

It's most unfortunate. We have a household full of Pats (and Bucs fans) but I have to root for the Bucs. There are only 2 objectives to this season right now: Get the Bolts in and the Falcons out. Wished Bucs could win this game because the Pats can easily take care of the division some other week.

I'm very happy since my opponent in the playoffs this week had the Bucs Defense.

Why? No offense to Bucs fans, but the Pats are playing the Bucs. Seriously, if any 2 teams in the league couldn't play within 40 points of the Colts, they are the Bucs and Bears.

Pats D looking very much like the last couple years, finally.
Bruschi coming back, Vrabel moving inside, Colvin stepping it up, Seymour returning and Ellis Hobbes have all sparked it. |

While I'm not about to claim the Pats a superior team to the Colts. Colts fans are now like Steelers fans of two years back. The Colts are the best team ever to play the game, and if by chance they lose it will be a fluke, they will still be the best team ever to play. If they lose again next year, it will be another fluke.
In short, I don't think they're worried . Last edited by jeff061 : 12-17-2005 at 02:56 PM. |

So the Bucs and Bears are worse than the 49ers, the Saints, the Jets, the Texans, the Browns, the Dolphins, .... |

Whoever thought up that jingle bells noise on the scoreboard needs to be drawn and quartered.

yeah, this game is over, no need to rub it in..
anyone think Billy B downgraded Brady to questionable to provide all those stories of "Such intestinal fortitude.. yaddayaddayadda" for Brady?

So if the Pats keep up the good work, and meet the Colts in the playoffs, what will be the point spread?
I'm thinking Colts -6 to -10, something like that |

Hmm... good thing I started Brunell over Brady. That injury sure is hampering Mr. Tom from doing well.

Nope. He's listed everyone as questionable, except for Brady and his shoulder, since the Falcons BS'd their injury report against the Pats. Belichick probably complained, was told than the Falcons didn't break any rules. So Belichick is doing the same. I never believed for a second he wasn't at least 90% Last edited by jeff061 : 12-17-2005 at 03:26 PM. |

I just got in and checked the score on nfl.com. Am I correct in understanding that Brady threw a 1-yard TD pass to a Tackle? :O

This was the first game in a long time I really enjoyed watching. Even though they have 9 wins, most have felt like pulling teeth, like watching a wounded animal scrounge food. The defense finally looks healthy and like they're gelling. The fact that they were mixing up formations a lot is a very good sign, I think,, since they really couldn't do that earlier in the season.

Fox trying to say that the lack of the running game was why they Bucs threw short, and not medium/long..
um.. could it be that your QB got sacked SIX times and hit/hurried quite a few other times that could be why? And there's the cold weather excuse.

Listening to the radio here... Pats fans are calling in and talking about how fantastic the Patriots are and how the rest of the league is afraid to play them now. They're also bringing up the "Belichick is a mastermind" talk again.

Well I think the injury situation, and the team performance, has clearly proven that there's only so much a coach can influence the outcome.

No, but matching up against the Colts I'd put the Saints, Texans, Browns, and Dolpins all ahead of the Bears and Bucs. Like I've said in the past, the Colts are much more likely to be beaten by a team that has a good offense and no defense than a team with a great defense and no offense at all. That is why I'm expecting a loss tomorrow. June, Mathias and Simon are all not going to play. That doesn't bode well for us at all.

If i was playing the patriots.. i'd list my entire freaking team as questionable.. because.. and to be honest.. who isn't questionable week to week?
and still, if they were in any other division.. they'd need help to make the playoffs |

In NE, probable is 100% to play, questionable is 80% chance of playing. Doubtful is Out. Out is really #$#$ hurt.

But they aren't. And if they had any other schedule, they'd be better than 9-5. From the Boston Globe: "How limited was he in the week leading up to the game, and was there ever any doubt that he would actually play in the game in your mind? "Well, he was whatever he was listed on the injury report. So whatever that was, that's what it was." How limited was he in practice? "He was questionable.'" The coach, btw. Hat-tip to the Pats for whipping Tampa. Now if the Panthers can beat the 'Aints tomorrow, they'll be back in the driver seat in the division.
