How many versions of this can they make? I just hope the battles are resolved a little differently.

Ahhh, EU with the improvements of Vic, HOI, and CK. This will kill what little free time I have. And I still haven't played Combat Mission II against WSUCougar.

EU II may just be the best game ever made, after the dozen patches anyway. This is the best news I've heard in forever! I was a beta for Vic back in the day.

If EU 3 has some type of dynastic system or some other ability to control who your next leader is (in the event of a republic f.e.), I am so hooked.

Speaking of which, I really need to get my desktop back up... I've been going through CK withdrawal lately.

Despite my love for Paradox games, Vicky was the one that just never hooked me. I've tried three or four times, but it just isn't any fun.

I think Vicky has the steepest learning curve. I keep trying it every now and then, but haven't gotten the hang of it.

Kind of, yeah. Given what I know about your wargming tastes, if you haven't tried it, you should.

Turn-based? I may have to give it a go.

Hey ASL is plenty fun, provided you don't play with a rules lawyer... Then again, what game is fun if you play with a rules lawyer.

I had fun with EUII when I was playing to my own set of goals rather than what they did with the objectives. Also, it was FAR to easy to acquire new territory, and that is eventually what ruined the game for me. I have no problem playing Brandenburg or some other small principality in the CG, but once you get to 5 or 6 provinces, there is no challenge any more. I would love to have to sweat things when playing with a major country like France, but unfortunately you don't.

Yeah... for a game that tries to be somewhat like a simulation, conquering Europe was pretty damned easy.
