Interactive Golf: Year 1

Let's get this started -finally.

I am using A-SSG (Automaed Stroke Saver Golf). There will be 16 tourneys with various prize money (the actual prizes awarded have been assigned based on PGA website amounts). There are 32 golfers- 11 all-timers and 21 FOFCers.

At the end of the year, the poorest performing will be sent to the 'minors' and new players will be brought in. FOFC golfers are at a disadvantage to the all-timers in terms of starting points. FOFCers have 15, all-timers up to 25, depending on how the game rated them (not me). FOFCers who perform amazing feats will be awarded a bonus point to add to their stats.

As mentioned in the sign-up thread, this is mostly luck, but hopefully fun luck.

(This will not be too fast moving because I cannot figure out how to deal with the macros and formatting from the game. I cannot copy/paste to my stuff from the game and cannot figure out how to disable the macros used in terms of changing names permanently. Therefore, every number and name is moved by hand- and so errors may occur...that's life at the 19th hole unless someone can tell me what to do.)

( Jesse Ewiak and two others were in the top group to get in, However, Jesse is banned and the other two have 1 post each and had not been on in awhile, so I made an executive decision. There is always next year.)

Again, errors WILL occur with all the crap I have to switch from the game sheets to my worksheets. Please point any problems out as you may find them.

If you are a whiz (or if FrogMan is around

), I would LOVE to not have to do all that typing if you know how to deal with the macros/formatting.

Would have more posted but rain/storms/flooding in Dallas area caused the outage of my DSL. Went out at 1:30 and never came back. If it is back after work, we will get the next update, if not, we'll wait until it is.

Yes, only the first 21 who applied made the cut into year 1 as there is a max of 32 golfers in the game and the premise of the dynasty was to try to get good enough to compete with the all-timers weekly.

The next in line will take over for the lower ranked players in year 2.

Another note/posit...

I am rethinking going with the real prize money amounts for the way to track players ranking. With only 32 players, using the actual money will make for an out-of-wack money list.

I was thinking of shrinking the prize money awarded as a % of actual players used/normal players in an event to actual $ used/normal $ used. Either that or I could just use a point system, which may be easier to do and easier to view.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I missed the signup thread for this, but I'd like to be in it for next year.

As far as the point total goes, I think there needs to be a bigger reward for winning a tournament. Just 5 points better than 2nd place isn't enough of a distinction between the two, IMO. But I like what you're doing with it - looks great so far.

With only 32 players, using the actual money will make for an out-of-wack money list. I was thinking of shrinking the prize money awarded as a % of actual players used/normal players in an event to actual $ used/normal $ used. As far as the point total goes, I think there needs to be a bigger reward for winning a tournament. Just 5 points better than 2nd place isn't enough of a distinction between the two, IMO.
