Playoff thought re: different sports
I know in baseball the whole "come back from down 3 games to 1" bit is pretty rare.
It seems like in basketball, though, it happens pretty routinely. So my question is, what's your perception of the 3-1 comeback in the different sports for which best-of-seven is the norm? For me: MLB: rare NHL: moderately rare NBA: common |

I would not call it common in the NBA. It has only happened 8 times in the history of the NBA.

It was extremely rare in the NHL up until about 15 years ago, when it started happening once or twice a year for several seasons.

I'm not asking about reality. I'm asking about perception. My perception is that it seems fairly common. Maybe I'm confusing too many 2-0 series leads with 3-1, but that's my *perception.*
I know reality might be (and probably is) quite different. |

My perception is that 3-1 comebacks aren't that common in reality.

my perception is that a 3-1 series generally ends 4-2

and 3-0 has never happened, right? Personally I view it as equal across sports. |

This is how I always viewed it. I am probably a bit biased in my views since I lost interest in basketball a few yrs ago and love baseball, but to me it seems like in the NBA whether it's a 3-1, 2-0, any kind of lead it's like no big deal, but in baseball it seems like a lock. |

I'm pretty sure it's never happened in football, though. So that'd be my vote for the hardest.
My perception, at least. |

Hasn't yet. The last time it almost happened was in 2003, Dallas-Portland where Dallas almost blew the 3-0 lead, but they won game 7. |

What was the Denver-Seatlle series then, best of five? I could of sworn I remember it being not only a #8 over a #1, but also down against the odds. I guess I might be wrong on this.

Yes, that was a best-of-five that Denver won after being down 2-0. Effectively the same thing as a 3-1 comeback, I guess.
