After 3 plus years managing semi-pro squad Galway United, I have been offered a pay cut to take over the full-time "debt-ridden" Italian club Real Marcianise. I gleefully accept! We are nearly 1 million dollars (723K euros) in debt. The board expects us to avoid relegation from Serie C2/C; our supporters are a bit more optimistic, expecting a solid mid-level finish. |

Cash balance: ($681,749) Transfers out: Vincent Scarpato, to Aalen, 525K. Scarpato was the best striker on the team, but not by a lot. Transfers in: Antonio Signorini, free. 15 year old GK prospect. Nicola La Rocca, from Carpi, 130K. 17 year old ST. Filippo Furlan, free. 15 year old GK prospect. Mirko Conte, free. 18 year old AM LC, F C. Pierpaolo Agostini, free. 18 year old M C. Massimiliano Perrotta, free. 18 year old M C. August 4th, vs. Maceratese, friendly. Luca Esposito scores a hat trick in the first half, and we cruise to a 3-0 win. August 8th, vs. Anigni, friendly. An easy 6-0 win for us against a vastly inferior opponent. August 12, @ Sportiva Manfredonia, Series C Cup Group 1. Manfredonia 7-4 underdogs in their own stadium. Our lineup is: ----L. Esposito-Tomassini--- Albano---A. Corradi---N. Esposito ----------Amita----------- Bossetti-Tozzi-Ciano-Panini -----------Fortin---------- Corradi has a forward arrow; tactics are narrow, slow, counter-attacking. Gianluca Tommasini gets a goal in the 7th moment, on a centering pass from Albano. Manfredonia replies by scoring a penalty kick in the 20th minute, and converting a corner kick in the 36th minute. Luca Esposito has a knock, so Piccolo (not the former Oakland shortstop) is in for him. In the 44th minute, Panini sends a long pass from his own side, which Piccolo knocks in with his head! We go into halftime tied 2-2. 88th minute, N. Esposito strips the attacker of the ball, dribbles practically the length of the field, and sends a beautiful centering pass that Piccolo knocks home! Final score, Real Marcianise win, 3-2. Niccolo Esposito is the man of the match. August 16th, vs. Bitonto, Series C Cup Group 1. -------L. Esposito-Piccolo----------- Corraddi------Moschella----N. Esposito ---------------Amita--------------- Benetti-Carnesalini-Ciano-Bianciardi ------------Della Corte------------ We dominate shots, shots on target, corners, etc., but the match ends in a 0-0 draw. Attendance: 161, a record low for the franchise. August 23, vs. Angri. We open up league play today. Most of my players are not match fit, and some of them are quite tired. I took over the team midway through their preseason, and have had quite a few matches with not a lot of time off. Angri is slight favorites, despite being the away team. -------Piccolo----Tomassini------- ---Albano----Corradi----Esposito-- --------------Amita-------------- Benetti-Carnesalini-Ciano-Bianciardi --------------Fortin-------------- 57th minute, Tomassini takes a throw in, dribbles down the sideline, and finds Alberto Corradi in front of the goal - and that's the only goal of the match. Real Marcianise wins, 1-0. Sergio Carnesalini is the man of the match. August 26th, @ Foggia, Series C Cup Group 1. "Real Marcianise face the impossible," reads the headline. --------Tomassini---La Rocca------- Albano-----Moschella------N. Esposito ---------------Amita---------------- Chauveau-Carnesalini-Ciano-Bianciardi --------------Della Corte------------ We hold out hope for a scoreless draw, but in the 63rd minute, a pinpoint pass finds the head of Alessandro Matri, and Foggia wins 1-0. Cash balance: ($842,248) September 2, vs. Latina, Series C Cup Grp I. We are slightly favored here, but draw 0-0 at home. September 6, vs. Igea Virtus. Igea Virtus is evens favorites in our stadium. Our starting lineup is: ---Piccolo------L. Esposito--- Conte----Perrotta----N.Esposito ----------Amita-------------- Bosetti-Tozzi-Carnesalini-Panini ---------Della Corte----------- In the 3rd minute, Igea Virtus converts on a freekick - the kick finds a head in the penalty box, and we are down 1-0. Piccolo pulls us even in the 20th minute, converting from a sensational long pass from Panini on the right wing. Igea Virtus gets a second goal from Ferretti, off a rebound from his own shot, in the 37th minute, and we go to halftime down 2-1. La Rocca comes on for L. Esposito in the second half, and gets free for a pass from N. Esposito, tying the game up in the 67th minute - final score is a 2-2 draw. September 13th, @ Russi. We are heavy favorites against newly promoted Russi. Our lineup: ---Piccolo------L. Esposito--- Conte----N.Esposito---Ponti ----------Amita-------------- Bosetti-Tozzi-Carnesalini-Panini -----------Fortin------------- Piccolo converts an early yellow card freekick from N. Esposito, and we go in at the half up 1-0. Bianciardi, a Sweeper being trained as a fullback, comes into the game in the second half to get some experience, and in the 90th minute commits a heinous turnover that leads to the equalizing goal. F***ing defensemen. 1-1 draw. September 20, vs. Ragusa. Same lineup as last game. Piccolo takes a long header from Bosetti and scores in the 14th minute, and is set up perfectly by Luca Esposito for a second goal in the 18th minute. Ragusa adds a goal just before halftime, so we lead 2-1. After half-time, Nick Esposito scores his first goal of the season, a ridiculous volley from the semi-circle atop the box. Giulio Ponte adds a goal from almost the same spot, and the final is Real Marcianise win, 4-1. September 27, vs. Savoia. Savoia jumps out to a quick 1-0 lead on a goal by Teatro, but Piccolo scores twice, once at 42, and once at 66, to give us the lead. La Rocca comes on in the second half, and ices the game at the 81st minute. Final score is Real Marcianise win, 3-1. We are in second place in the league table, with a record of 3 wins, 2 draws, and 0 losses. |

Roster Rundown
Goalies: Della Corte and Fortin have split starts. Neither has played badly, but neither one has really played well yet. Defense: Manuel Panini, at right fullback, has been something of an offensive star, sending long, beautiful passes to my forwards. Left fullback will probably be Alexis Chaveau's position to lose; he was injured to start the year, and Andrea Bosetti has been filling in. Centrebacks have mostly been Tozzi (just 21), Ciano and Carnesalini. All three look to be able to play. Midfield: Antonio Amita has been the second line of my 4-1-3-1, and has really come on (7-9-7-8) lately. He's the captain, and most indispensable player, as I don't really have anybody to replace him. The next line features young (20) star Niccolo Esposito, who has recently moved to MC position. Giulio Ponte and Francesco Albano are the wings, and both have played well. Forward: Only 3 guys have gotten any time here, Francesco Piccolo (6 goals in 5 league games), 17 year old Nicola La Rocca (usually plays the second half), and Luca Esposito. Mirko Conte has gotten some starts at ML, but hasn't impressed, and will probably only be seen again if injuries take a toll. |

I'm not sure. It appears as though first place is automatic, and there's some sort of playoff for the next four teams. Is there an easy way to find out? |

Wikipedia: Serie C2 consists of three divisions: Serie C2/A, Serie C2/B, and Serie C2/C, all of them composed of 18 teams. At the end of the season, six teams (two from each division) go up to Serie C1 and nine teams (three from each division) go down to Serie D.
So the top team from each Group (North, Central, South) Automatically promote, and the next four teams in each group go through playoffs for the 2nd promotion spot. ( I think they break ties in two legged playoffs by advancing the team who finished higher)

October 11, @ Frascati. We go into this match as slight underdogs, even though we are unbeaten and Frascati has yet to win. ------Piccolo-----La Rocca------ --Albano-----Perrota-----Ponte-- -------------Amita-------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Panini -------------Fortin-------------- Wildest game of the year so far. Frascati gets a goal in the 3rd minute, as a poor pass from Panini leads to a cross that Chiazzolino heads home. Massimiliano Perrotta replies with his first ever goal for Real Marcianise off a pass from Chauveau in the 19th minute. 31st minute, Nicola La Rocca intercepts a lazy back pass, and executes a one man fast break, beating the goalie high and to the right. 40th minute, Carnesalini gives up a penalty kick that Frascati converts, and it's 2-2 at the half. 54th minute, Francesco Piccolo caps a sweet series of passes with our third goal - but Frascati responds, with their third goal, as Savarese jukes Fortin out of his socks! Luca Esposito subs for La Rocca, and in the 80th minute, his fresh legs track down a long ball from Panini - he centers for Piccolo, who scores his second goal of the match. Real Marcianise wins, 4-3. Amita is the MoM. October 18th, vs. Castel San Pietro. 1st place hosts second place. ------Piccolo-----La Rocca------ -Albano----N. Esposito----Panini- ---------------Amita-------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Bianciardi ------------Della Corte------------- Esposito is back in the center, and I've moved Panini up to wing. Bianciardi steps in to right fullback. The move pays first half dividends, as Panini sets up Piccolo for the first goal of the match; but in the second half, Castel San Pietro evens it up, and we draw 1-1. October 25th, @ Fano. Fano is on a 4 game unbeaten streak. Our lineup is the same as last game, except Fortin is in goal. The first half sees no scoring, and at halftime I sub Luca Esposito in for La Rocca. He responds with a sensational performance, scoring 3 goals, outhustling the defenders each time. Real Marcianise wins 3-1. October 28th, vs. Foligno, Series C Cup Qualifying Round Leg 1. I don't really know how prestigious this Cup is, but I draw about 10 times as many fans for League competition. There's not even a preview item in the news for this match. Lineup is: ------Piccolo-----L. Esposito------ -Albano----N. Esposito----Panini- ---------------Amita-------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Bianciardi ------------Della Corte------------- Francesco Piccolo scores a crazy rebound goal in the 12th minute, and Foligno converts a corner in the 17th minute. It looks headed towards a 1-1 draw, especially after Luca Esposito comes off injured, and I'm forced to switch to a 4-1-4-1, but Panini sets up Nick Esposito in the 80th minute, and we pull out the 2-1 victory. November 1, @ Nocerina (3rd place). Nocerina is favored, as we hope to maintain our unbeaten league position. La Rocca and Luca Esposito are both beat up, so our lineup looks thus: ---------Piccolo-------Conte--------- ---Albano-----Perrota------Panini---- ---------------Amita---------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi ---------------Fortin---------------- Mirko Conte was one of the youngsters I picked up at the beginning of the season; I tried him out a bit at left wing, but he didn't do much, and ended up on the end of the bench. He delivers today, though, scoring a pair of goals as we easily win 2-0. Carnesalini is MoM. November 4th, @ Foligno, Series C Cup Qualifying Round, Leg 2. A rematch of last week's cup match. We switch goalies, but otherwise keep the same lineup, but it's a flat match for us: We lose 1-3. Roberto Traigni scores 3 goals against us. November 15, vs. Castelnuovo (11th place). La Rocca is healed up enough to start, and is back in with Piccolo up front. Tozzi gives Carnesalini a rest. We have a number of fantastic chances, but fail to convert any of them. 0-0 draw. Amita is MoM. A disappointing result. November 22, vs. Paganese (6th place). Biancardi is out with an injury, so Panini moves to fullback, and Giulio Ponte starts at wing. Carnesalini is back in at center back, and Luca Esposito starts with Piccolo up front. Our boring play continues with a 0-0 first half, but in the 52nd minute, Nick Esposito scores on a freekick to break us out of our slump. In the 81st minute, Esposito winds up another freekick, and finds Albano's head for the clincher. We win 2-0. Francesco Albano is MoM. November 29, @ Gela (11th place). Amita is out with an injury, so Nick Esposito moves back from AMC to DM. Massimiliano Perrotta takes over at AMC. Biancardi is back, moving Panini up to wing. The game itself is ugly; we lose 4 players to injury, ending up a man down, but the situation is even, since Gela's Roberto Perella gets red carded in the first half. We score, naturally, on Nick Esposito's penalty kick, and win 1-0. I think I'm going to say mean things to the press about Gela's coach. Dirty pool! |

December 6, vs. Rende (10th place). ------Piccolo-----La Rocca----- --Albano---Perrotta----Panini--- ----------N. Esposito---------- Chauveau-Ciano-Tozzi-Biancardi ------------Fortin------------- Perrotta is the fastest player on my squad; I may have to find a way to get him some more time. Perrotta scores the opening goal, a header on a cross from Panini. We dominate the match, shots 16-5, and win 3-1. Nick Esposito and Francesco Piccolo also score goals. Panini is MoM. December 13, @ Sorrento (2nd place). --------Piccolo------La Rocca------- --Albano----N. Esposito-----Panini--- --------------Amita---------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi --------------Fortin---------------- 24th minute, Fortin sends a long goal kick downfield, Piccolo gets on it and finishes an absolutely stunning goal! Sorrento pulls even in the 78th minute, though, and the match finishes a draw, 1-1. Michele Ciano is MoM. December 20, vs. Acireale (3rd place). Della Corte in goal, otherwise same lineup as last week. La Rocca goes off with an injury in the 32nd minute, and we're forced into the 4-1-4-1. The move does not pay off, as we lose 1-0. I didn't quite expect to go undefeated, but the first loss of the year hurts. December 23, @ Latina (4th place). An odd Wednesday League match (all other league matches to date have been Sunday). Luca Esposito is healthy, so he starts for La Rocca. Tozzi goes in for Carnesalini, and I start Perrotta at Left Midfield. Fortin in goal. Latina scores first, on a lob shot, but just a minute later Tozzi sets up Piccolo for the equalizer. Match ends in a 1-1 draw. We finish the month with 1 win, 1 loss, and 2 draws. League table: Code:

Heh.
Actually, I've decided that I can't buy FM until I at least get the 2005 Edition of "NFL in Pictures" out in book form, which means re-doing about half the season's cartoons in a higher resolution so they don't look terrible. So, once I get that done, then FM. |

January 3, Giulio Ponte, 23, M R transfered out to Pro Vasto for 35K. He had appeared in 9 games, with a 6.89 rating, and 1 goal. Since moving Panini up to right wing early in the season, he had become a second stringer. January 10, vs. Aglianese (16th place). --------Piccolo------La Rocca------- --Perrotta----N. Esposito-----Panini--- --------------Amita---------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi --------------Fortin---------------- After a so-so December, I'm looking for a win here. We get off to a great start: In the 11th minute, Biancardi wins the header, and knocks the ball to Piccolo, who assists La Rocca for the first goal. Three minutes later, almost the same sequence: Biancardi's head to La Rocca's feet to Piccolo's feet to the goal. RM wins 2-0. Piccolo is MoM. January 17, vs. Angri (18th place). Same lineup as last game. The only goal of the match comes when Chauveau, who has made a number of spectacular passes lately, finds Nick Esposito just outside the semicircle in the 15th minute. Esposito fires a curve ball, and RM wins 1-0. January 19, Francesco Albano, 24, AM L transfered out to Pro Vasto for 30 K. Albano had played in 16 games, scoring 1 goal, getting 2 assists, and 1 MoM. I like his game, but I need to make room for Massimiliano Perrotta, and I have some other bodies to cover the position if he doesn't work out. January 24, @ Igea Virtus (11th place). Nick Esposito has a thigh strain, so the lineup is: -------Piccolo------L. Esposito------ ---Corradi-----Perrotta-----Panini--- --------------Amita---------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi --------------Fortin---------------- Igea Virtus gets off to a good start, converting a corner in the 11th minute. Halftime score is 1-0. Something clicks in Francesco Piccolo during the halftime talk, and he scores an astonishing 3 goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Nick La Rocca, a late sub, adds the clincher and RM wins 4-2. January 28, Giuseppe Occhipinti, 29, D RC transfered in from Frosinone for 2K. Occhipinti is here strictly as a backup and as a mentor to some of the younger players. He replaces Tozzi, on the way out. January 30, Ricardo Tozzi, 21, D C transfered out to Pergocrema for 20K. Tozzi is a decent young player, but I don't have room for him right now. January 30, Michele Soccio, 23, GK transfered in from Lanciano for 2K. Soccio will play with the reserves for the remainder of the season, and will be around as insurance since Fortin, who has lately played very well, is 35. January 31, vs. Russi (15th place). Della Corte in goal, otherwise the same lineup as last week. Chauveau and Panini have been two of my more creative offensive players, and they combine on our only goal. A series of mistakes (missed header by Biancardi, leading to a shot which rebound was poorly cleared by Chauveau, leading to an easy finish) in the 78th minute, though, allows Russi to draw 1-1. February 7, @ Ragusa (16th Place) -------Piccolo------L. Esposito------ ---Corradi-----Perrotta-----Panini--- --------------Amita---------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi --------------Fortin---------------- After a solid January, we're 7 points up over 2nd place Acireale. This match gets out of hand quickly, as a red card puts Ragusa a man down. Perotta converts 2 penalty kicks in the first 15 minutes, and Piccolo and Moschella (subbing for an injured Panini) add first half goals. RM wins in a rout, 4-0. Panini's injury is not serious, but Fortin will be out for a couple of weeks. February 14, @ Savoia (7th place). Della Corte in goal, and La Rocca starts with Piccolo up front. Piccolo creates an early goal for Perrotta. Just before the half, La Rocca scores an unusual goal, intercepting a pass that appears to go right through the goalie's legs, or something. Moschella comes on in the second half, and scores his second goal in 2 games. Final score: RM wins, 3-0. February 21, vs. Frascati (12th place). -------Piccolo-------La Rocca------ --Perrotta---N. Esposito----Panini-- --------------Amita---------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi -----------Della Corte------------- After two easy wins on the road, we get a fairly tight match at home. Frascati's goalie turns away several early chances, and we don't break through until Luca Esposito, a late sub, finishes in the 87th minute. We don't give up a single shot on goal. RM win, 1-0. February 28, @ Castel San Pietro (5th Place). Fortin back in goal is the only change to the lineup. We turn in our worst performance of the year, as we watch San Pietro pass the ball amongst themselves the bulk of the day. For just the second time this year, RM lose 0-2. Code:

March 2010
Luca Esposito, for the third time, has requested a move to a bigger club. He hasn't even been able to crack our lineup on a consistent basis! I transfer list him. March 7, vs. Fano (5th place). -------Piccolo------L. Esposito------ ---Perrotta---Moschella---Panini--- --------------Amita---------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi ------------Della Corte-------------- After surviving an initial barrage from Fano, we strike first with a direct freekick goal by Alessandro Moschella, who hasn't seen much time, but has shown a knack for scoring. Piccolo and Panini add goals, and FM wins, 3-0. The bad news is that Chauveau is out for a couple weeks with a foot injury. March 14, @ Castelnuovo (7th place). Moschella is injured as well, so our lineup is: -------Piccolo------La Rocca------ ---Corradi-----Perrotta-----Panini--- --------------Amita---------------- Bosetti-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi --------------Fortin---------------- Piccolo goes down with an injury in the 44th minute, bad news as he's far and away our leading goal scorer. Esposito comes on, though, and promptly sets up La Rocca for a sweet goal just before the half. La Rocca, MoM, sets up Panini for a goal in the second half. RM win 2-0. March 21, vs. Nocerina, 6th place. ------L. Esposito--La Rocca------- ----Corradi---Perrotta---Panini---- -------------Amita--------------- Bosetti-Ciano-Carnesalini-Biancardi -----------Della Corte------------- Piccolo is out at least for this game, and we find our first goal from an unexpected player: Sergio Carnesalini! His first goal of the year. Gianluca Tomassini replaces La Rocca in the second half, and scores his first goal of the year as well. Luca Esposito scores in the 90th minute as well, and RM wins 3-1. A solid, gutsy performance! March 28, @ Paganese (9th place). Piccolo is back in the lineup, with Luca Esposito on the bench. In the 4th minute, Piccolo falls and hurts his wrist. Pasquale Constantino nets the hat trick for Paganese, and RM loses 1-3. Code:

April 4, vs. Gela (13th place). -----La Rocca-----L. Esposito---- --Perrotta--Moschella---Panini--- ------------Amita--------------- Benetti-Ciano-Occhipinti-Biancardi ------------Fortin-------------- Hopefully you didn't show up 3 minutes late, other wise you missed Nicola La Rocca's 9th and 10th goals of the season! Luca Esposito adds another one before the half, and Massimiliano Perrotta scores a penalty kick in the fourth. One of our biggest routs of the year - RM wins 4-0. Even better, 2nd place Acireale loses, putting us 9 points up with 5 games to play. We have, at the very least, clinched a spot in the playoff. April 11, @ Rende (14th place). -----La Rocca-----L. Esposito---- --Perrotta--Moschella---Panini--- ------------Amita--------------- Chauveau-Carnesalini-Occhipinti-Biancardi ------------Fortin-------------- Rende plays a short passing game that absolutely carves us up. We never really get any decent chances, and we lose 0-1. 6 points up with 4 games to play. April 14, vs. Sorrento (4th place). -----La Rocca-----L. Esposito---- --Perrotta--Moschella---Corradi--- --------------Amita--------------- Chauveau-Carnesalini-Ciano-Biancardi ------------Della Corte-------------- Panini is out with an injury. This is almost a must win for us, with next weeks match being @ second place Acireale. 11th minute, we get the hometown call, and La Rocca bangs home a penalty kick! Sorrento's GOALIE got ticketed with a red card, as well, so we're a man up. 2 minutes later La Rocca takes advantage, putting us two up. Just before half, Luca Esposito mounts a nice drive down the left flank, sends a centering pass that caroms off a defender to Perrotta. Second half is scoreless, and RM wins 3-0. Acireale draws, so we're 8 points up with 3 matches left. April 18, @ Acireale (2nd place). This is the big showdown. If we win, we are promoted. -----La Rocca-----L. Esposito---- --Perrotta--Moschella---Corradi--- ------------Amita--------------- Chauveau-Ciano-Occhipinti-Biancardi ------------Fortin-------------- Carnesalini has collected too many yellow cards, and is suspended for one match. Francesco Piccolo is on the bench, ready to come in if needed. I psych the team up by telling the media we're looking forward to whipping Acireale. 17th minute, La Rocca scores, and 2 minutes later, Esposito scores a "magical goal!" Our defense is absolutely stifling (as it's been most of the year) and we cruise to promotion! RM wins 2-0! |

Roster rundown, 2009-2010 season
Antonio Amita, DM, 38 appearances, 1 goal, 5 assists, 4 MoM, 7.45 - Amita was our most consistent player. Never flashy, just a solid high-percentage offensive and defensive presence who always made the right decision and was in the right place. 34 years old, so his future is unclear. Manuel Panini, D/WB/M R, 35 appearances, 4 goals, 8 assists, 3 MoM, 7.31 - Panini started the year as our Right Fullback, but moved up to Right Forward, and played well in both spots. 26 years old, so his position on the team is solid. Sergio Carnesalini, D C, 34 (2) appearances, 1 goal, 2 assists, 2 MoM, 7.27 - Extremely consistent centerback, almost never made a mistake. 27 years old. Francesco Piccolo, ST, 33 (1) appearances, 23 goals, 4 assists, 4 MoM, 7.31 - 23 years old, and making only 26K. Piccolo was far and away our top finisher last year, and I'd like to keep him, but he might fetch an enormous price. Michele Ciano, D C, 33 (1) appearances, 0 goals, 1 assist, 1 MoM, 7.32 - Just 24 years old, looks to have a bright future. Him and Carnesalini were quite a solid duo in back. Stefano Bianciardi, SW, 28 (5) appearances, 0 goals, 4 assists, 0 MoM, 6.73 - At 25, he may be too old to learn the D R position that I tried to force him into. I'm a bit unsure how to use him. Alexis Chauveau, D L, 27 (3) appearances, 0 goals, 5 assists, 0 MoM, 7.07 - The only non-Italian on my roster. Frenchy was a solid player on the left side. His long passes were often amazingly on-target. 27 years old. Niccolo Esposito, M R, 27 (2) appearances, 8 goals, 8 assists, 1 MoM, 7.03 - This 21 year old looks very good on paper, and filled in well at both AMC and DM positions. His injury problems concern me a little bit - he may be one guy who doesn't stick with the club next year. Nicola La Rocca, ST, 24 (8) appearances, 14 goals, 4 assists, 6 MoM, 7.31 - Just 17 years old, and if I decide to part with Piccolo, I have no doubt that La Rocca will step up big-time. Massimiliano Perrotta, M C, 23 (3) appearances, 7 goals, 2 assists, 1 MoM, 7.04 - An interesting guy, with an odd mix of talents. I tried him on the left wing, but he really seemed to play well as an AMC. Just 19 years old. Marco Fortin, GK, 22 (1) appearances, 7.04, 16 conceded, 12 clean, 0 MoM - 35 year old goalie, played well, but obviously not the future of our club. Luca Esposito, ST, 18 (14) appearances, 7 goals, 6 assists, 1 MoM, 6.94 - He was a bit of a pain in the ass with all his complaining about the club not being good enough for him. I like to have 3 good forwards around, though, and I need either him or Piccolo. 23 years old. Giuseppe Della Corte, GK, 17 appearances, 6.82, 16 conceded, 6 clean, 0 MoM - 26 years old, never really impressed me either way. Andrea Bosetti, D L, 10 (6) appearances, 0 goals, 2 assists, 0 MoM, 6.75 - 23 year old, couldn't crack the lineup and will probably be listed. Luca Corradi, AM RLC, FC, 9 (13) appearances, 0 goals, 3 assists, 0 MoM, 6.68 - A useful player because of his versatility. 29 years old, will be in the midfield mix next year. Alessandro Moschella, M C, 8 (11) appearances, 3 goals, 3 assists, 0 MoM, 6.95 - 23 year old, seemed to play better than his attributes. Mirko Conte, AM LC, F C, 7 (6) appearances, 2 goals, 0 assists, 0 MoM, 6.85 - Only 18 years old, but I'm not sure how good he's going to be. He had his moments, but was pretty inconsistent. Giuseppe Occhipinti, D RC, 7 (1) appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 MoM, 6.88 - 29 years old, acquired late in the year to play a backup role, and did very well. Gianluca Tomassini, AM R, ST, 3 (4) appearances, 1 goal, 1 assist, 1 MoM, 7.00 - unimpressive physical attributes, and at 28 not likely to get better. Played well when called upon, though. Manuel Benetti, D L, 3 (2) appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 MoM, 6.60 - Wants first team football. Will probably be listed. Alberto Corradi, M LC, 3 (1) appearances, 1 goal, 0 assist, 0 MoM, 6.50 - One of the youngsters picked up at the beginning of the season, he was looked at briefly, but spent most of his time on the U-20 club. I think he has some good potential. Michele Soccio, GK, 1 appearance, 1 conceded, 0 clean, 0 MoM, 8.00 - 23 year old goalie, doesn't appear to have much promise at all. Probably won't stick with the club. Tiziano Torracca, D C, 0 (4) appearances, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 MoM, 6.50 - 30 years old, never found a place on the team. Probably will play elsewhere next season. The following players contracts are up, and will not be resigned: Tizziano Torracca Luca Corradi Manuel Bennetti Gianluca Tomassini's contract is also up, but he will be offered an extension. |
