Vin Baker in Rehab
Has their ever been a worse trade than the Celtics' Anderson for Baker deal? I know Anderson isn't Magic Johnson, but Baker has been a GIGANTIC flop. Add to that the huge contract they committed themselves to and I swear Pitino is still in charge.
Now I hear tat Baker is suspended for a couple of weeks to deal with alcohol problems. Great. |

Imagine if he was Vin Diesel's gay lover. They could wear mathcing rugby shirts with "Vin" on the back and share a foo-foo umbrella drink.
Wouldn't "Vin & Vin" airbrushed in two hearts from one of those tourist-stand t-shirt artists would just be precious.

That trade was just stupid.
But it's just another example of the stupid NBA salary cap and player movement rules. The Celtics had no other real options to try and put a big body in the lineup. My Knicks are in the same position now. |

On of the best trades in Sonics history, of course if all they had gotten was a used basketball it would still have been a great deal

Celtics did have options and the sale of the team played a major role in the course of events.
Paul Gaston would not shell out any money to resign Rodney Rogers and through this deal shaved about a million off the bottom line. In spite of that Chris Wallace should bear the brunt of the blame. Had the Celtics still had Kenny this year they could have made a run at a bit more quality through a deadline deal since Anderson is in the last year of his contract. Guys like Elden Campbell or Theo Ratliff could have been considered. The scary part about watching Baker is it is not a lack of effort. He has just completely lost it. That combined with not being the type of center at all that is required to play the kind of help defense employed by O'Brien spells doghouse and problems equalling 3 more years at 15 mil per...
