1967 FOOL Realignment (DH/No-DH)
Given the Designated Hitter vote, it seems that we're basically split between two camps, a DH camp and a non-DH camp. Rather than stay no-DH across the board, I think it'll be more interesting to realign the leagues based on the vote generally and well, we've tried the DH for 3 years and no DH for three years, so why not go DH/no-DH for the rest of the way out.
This would take place starting with the 1967 season and would apply only to the regular season. The DH will not be used in the FOOL Classic, even in RL parks. We can take a separate vote on that, but not for three seasons (end of the 1969 season) Three teams from each league will swap spots, because of the way the vote went down and to minimize the confusion of league alignments. The teams that swapped are interesting too, since it was pretty good teams in both cases that ended up switching leagues. Continental League (No-DH) -- Valdosta Charleston Brooklyn New York Rio Grande Baltimore LBI Texas Republic League (DH) -- Compton Ann Arbor Colorado Boston Hartford El Paso Seattle Chicago Last edited by Young Drachma : 07-15-2008 at 05:24 PM. |
