Question for people that know about privacy laws
I've always wanted to find about my ancestry, but I have had a huge roadblock: My bio dad was adopted, and refuses to look for his birth parents. I was told quite a few years ago (7-8) that I wasn't allowed to know any info about them without his consent, so I kind of just gave up.
Now I want to find out again (for various reasons, including health history), so I'm hoping that someone on the board knows something about the law in regard to this matter. Thanks.

As an adoptee, I can tell you that the laws vary state by state (and I'm pretty sure are governed by the laws of the state where the adoption took place, not where you live or the other parties live now).
