saw this yesterday. horrible break for someone who deserves much better.

read the story, seemed like he was settling into retirement and genuinely just being an average-joe and trying to help out his community.

He sounded like a great guy. A multi-millionaire who retires and takes a 9-5 job just because he loves to work? You don't see that very often. Plus he was very charitable and kind from what I've been reading.

My cousin became paralyzed in a similar accident, so I know how hard this is going to be for him and his family. I'll be praying for them.

i didn't see anywhere - what do they think his chances for recovery are? is this permenant, or are they hoping with therapy it'll go away?

How sad. I was living in Denver when he first came into the league, and I loved watching the guy play. Hopefully there's some hope of rehabilitation for him...
