Browns Post Draft Report

Pre-Training Camp

LT Randy Ogden (1.1): 57/90 - Was hoping there would be some stud skill position players at the top of the draft but, rather than reach, went with BPA. Ogden will anchor our oline for years to come.

MLB Todd Hall (2.1): 43/66 - Had my eye on a couple of CB prospects here, but they went late in the first. With a current rating of 43, Hall is already the highest rated MLB on my roster. Has decent abilities in all facets except M2M - which I don't really look for in a MLB anyway. Lack of endurance is a concern.

SE Roger McQuaig (3.1): 25/46 - My most disappointing pick (And he rejected my first contract offer!)....if he takes a typical TC hit, he'll probably never be any better than a 4th stringer. Was hoping for a miracle and that either Batteaux or Anderson would fall to me here.

RB Ken Josaphat (4.1): 30/59 - If his ratings hold, he could end up being my starter this year. Initial reports show good HR and ELU. Also shows the potential to be a decent receiver.

K Austin Duran (5.1): 39/73 - Unless he bombs in camp, should provide an upgrade over my kicker from last year that didn't even hit 70%.

CB William Wycheck (6.1): 34/59 - He's already 70% dev so he's never going to see a 59 rating, but hopefully he'll be decent enough to be our nickel or dime back.

C Dusty Browning (7.1): 21/57 - He may not be my center of the future but, for a 7th round pick, I'll take a decent backup at a position of need.

Ya he's a great score, a player that can play well into his 30's so you don't have to worry about him for a year or two of RL time

A pretty good draft overall for you and interesting to read what you had to think about your picks.

I really like the write up, I am thinking of doing something during the season with drafted and rookie free agents but I have to figure out how to do it.

Can anyone tell me how many times I can edit a post before it stops me from doing it? I want to create a thread where I can update the 1st post throughout the season.

Post Training Camp

LT Randy Ogden (1.1): 64/87, +7/-3; Lost a few future points but, at only 50% dev he should be a good one.

MLB Todd Hall (2.1): 49/62, +6/-4; Totally psyched about this pick. I think he's going to be a creeper. Weird thing is, his endurance went from virtually nothing to 100. Never seen that before.

SE Roger McQuaig (3.1): 28/46, +3/-; The pick I was most disappointed in is my only rookie not to lose future ratings. Go figure.

RB Ken Josaphat (4.1): 31/51, +1/-8; Guess he's not going to be as good as I had hoped. The limited development in camp and the 8 point future drop does not bode well.

K Austin Duran (5.1): 38/66, -1/-6; Yeech, dropped a current point in camp....that can't be good.

CB William Wycheck (6.1): 38/53, +4/-6; Still looks to be a decent nickel or dime back. What more can you expect from a 6th rounder?

C Dusty Browning (7.1): 22/42, +1/-15; Bummed about this one. Figured he'd drop, but not this far. Not sure if he'll make the final roster at this point.

Other notables:

Three of my four QB's gained future points in camp. Will be a spirited competition between incumbent DuBois and newcomer Schneider for the starter's spot during the exb season. Neither learned any additional formations during camp, though.

RT Daryl Wilkens explodes in camp, gaining 20 current and 14 future. Paired with LT Ogden and RG Floyd, gives the Browns a great young foundation on the oline.

Most of the WR corps stayed flat or lost points. This will continue to be the team's area of weakness.

Three rookie FA's that could make the team: SLB Walter Koelling, WLB George O'Neal, and CB Brant Harris. This speaks more to the weakness of my roster than my shrewdness as a talent evaluator.

Ogden is a beat, not just his ratings but his performances with his run blocking and not allowing only 1 sack in close to 300 snaps. So far he is proving his worth as the 1st overall taken.

Its a shame Ian Becker (the T taken after Egden) isn't playing as good, allowing 5 sacks and not much in the run game.

Yeah I'm really psyched about Odgen and my 2.1 pick LB Hall.

The surprising thing is that my RT Wilkens (1.23 from last year) had a huge boom in camp and is now rated 70/70, but he's not playing up to his ratings. He's only given up 1 sack, but his RB% is a measly 22.2.

How is the running on the right side though? The fact that he is not allowing sacks then he is good.

EOS

LT Randy Ogden (1.1): 91/91, +2/+2, +34/+1 Played as you'd expect for a 1.1 draft pick: 49.2% RB, 4 SA
MLB Todd Hall (2.1): 74/74, +6/+6, +31/+8 Candidate for defensive ROY. Probably the best 2nd round pick I've ever had in FOF MP.
SE Roger McQuaig (3.1): 37/46, +2/-, +12/- Has potential to be a solid # 3 WR.
RB Ken Josaphat (4.1): 33/51, +1/-, +3/-8 Looks to be a decent # 2 RB. Disappointed by his slow progression despite good playing time.
K Austin Duran (5.1): 53/66, +2/-, +14/-7 Only a 72% rate and will never see a 66 rating. Kicker still a position of need.
CB William Wycheck (6.1): 42/53, -/-, +8/-6 Decent nickel or dime back.
C Dusty Browning (7.1): 23/42, -/-, +2/-15 Roster filler.
