So I was 2-2 and leading Detroit at home late by a 7-3 score when my star RB fumbled it deep in our territory. The scored and won, but ok, my defense was still playing better than I've gotten it to in about the past 5 MP seasons i've had.
Go into GB, get up 10-0 and since then i've been run over like an aged possum on a freeway.

If we hadn't won I'd be even more pissed than I am.
After last weeks penalty debacle we had 14 for 112 this week, include TWO TD's getting called back (one a 58 yarder, ended up punting).
:sigh:

Don't know how much the flu affects performance, but half my team was infected....at least we kept in close.
We're still on track to finish around 8-8 this season so I guess I'll take it....just would have been nice to pull out this game and our 1 point loss to Baltimore to start the season.

Son of a.....I'd rather be blown out every week rather than keep losing by 3-4 points. This is getting ridiculous.

Just reviewed the game log from my game. Gotta love this bit of play calling by the AI. Situation: Just after the two minute warning in the 4th quarter, my team is losing 22-20 and I'm on the New Jersey 5 yard line. I think it's safe to say that's chip-shot FG range to win the game.
Cleveland: I formation, with the second wideout in the slot, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the run.
1-5-NJY05 (4Q: 01:55) Jimmie Shields ran inside the left tackle for 1 yard. Tackled by S Rudy Jeffries, assisted by ILB Jerome Sutton.
Cleveland: Strong formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 34 and 2-deep bump-and-run coverage, expecting the run.
2-4-NJY04 (4Q: 01:37) Ken Josaphat ran outside the right tackle for -2 yards. Tackled by ILB Jamie Fisk, assisted by OLB Isaac Compton.
Cleveland: Pro formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 34 with nickel personnel and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the pass.
3-6-NJY06 (4Q: 01:17) Jimmie Shields ran inside the left tackle for 4 yards. Tackled by DE Bob Sullivan.
(4Q: 01:17) Cleveland called a time out.
4-2-NJY02 (4Q: 01:06) Austin Duran attempted a 19 yard field goal and succeeded. Cleveland 23, New Jersey 22
(4Q: 01:00) Austin Duran kicked off 52 yards from the CLE30. Vegas Vic Pacheco returned the ball 28 yards to the NJY46. Tackled by Johnny Huffman.
So we run on 3 consecutive plays and get stuffed - which is perfectly cool. The only problem is that, instead of letting the full 40 second clock click down after each play, we only use up a total of 38 seconds. Then to compound matters, my coach actually calls timeout at the 1:06 mark before kicking the field goal.
We had an opportunity to either: a) use up at least 1:20 and leave NJ with 35 seconds on the clock or b) force NJ to use all their timeouts to stop the clock. We did neither and actually helped them by using one of our timeouts.
Needless to say, they drive down the field for the winning field goal to end the game.
Gotta love it.
