1917 FOOL-H Season

I wanted to use the Wayne's World clip where they say "Game On" but it wasn't on YouTube.

We need to have another level. The #1 overall pick lost 1.5 stars and contact rating. Some of these guys while they come in with high ratings do not belong in AAA because of their age.

Honestly, I think thats on you not on the game setup. Full historical draftees appear in the draft in the historical year that they played at least one major league game. By definition, they are "ready for the majors". Especially the first overall pick.

I have had a few people that are not even close to their potential rating that have needed a year of seasoning. I've played a few modern day historical leagues with all 3 levels and have had them increase accordingly. I don't see the hurt in adding a AA to the league especially for guys who are 18,19 and 20.

Looks like he handled AAA hitting just fine, i think he still looks like a great player

Heck, even Nemoto lost 2-3 points of contact future by the time he peaked with plenty of time in A/AA/AAA.

Pittsburgh's Ed Roush wins his 2nd straight batting title, but noone hits .400. Roush and Cobb get the closest, hitting .398 and .396 each.

With all the talk of Babe throwing a few innings in 1917, it doesn't happen. He spends the whole season in RF, hitting another 44 homers. That gives him 250 career home runs at the age of 22. I guess the question is, will he get to 714. With no injuries, and his current pace, he's there by 32.

Former #1 pick John Beckwith as developed into a stud. A 7 for power now, 29 homers, he's been getting better every year. Amazingly, drafted 2 years after Ruth, he's a year older!!

Walter Johnson finally has a Walter Johnson type season. 25-12, with a era in the mid 3's. Ofcourse, in real life, that era would be one of the worst of his career!!!

Good luck to the playoff teams, the Tigers, came back from last place in June to earn a spot.

The Tigers surge was pretty impressive. As was my Yankees' implosion, in its own way.

Not that I think a change is necessary at all, but in the event one was deemed necessary, I'd actually advocate the complete opposite, the abolition of the AAA level and maintaining just a reserve roster. This isn't the modern era.

This isn't a bad idea for a league like this. And it would solve the development issues.

What do others think of a reserve roster vs. a minor league?

I'm for whatever. I've had one or two guys hang around there to finish some development, but mostly I have a bunch of mid-20s guys doing nothing.

what does the reserve roster do that AAA doesn't? What's the difference between the 2?

Reserve roster players develop but there are no stats. And no need to move the players up a level, since there are no levels.

That's the only difference.

3rd straight loss in the NLCS. Not good.

Thanks! I was quickly becoming the Atlanta Braves early with my ability to get to the playoffs repeatedly without actually winning much. Was nice to actually win it all for once

Finally able to reply to posts!!

Detroit GM here. Wow what a spring training. I guess I shouldn't have changed anything, but I had to demote someone, lol.

Grats to the playoff winners who keep bouncing me out!

I am at work now, but I think I have a 1b and a C that I need to deal in the off-season.

Great league guys!

If it were up to me I would want the AAA to stay around, and if we were to change I would rather see other lower levels added as opposed to removing AAA. I need a little more than ratings and ST results to promote a player.
