Hey Greg (and anyone else wanting to experiment with two-way players)

If you want Babe Ruth to be a pitcher and an outfielder, just click on his name, then go to Action ---> Set Game Strategy. You should convert him to a pitcher, then he'll pitch, but then force him to start as a Right Fielder and override the team settings. I've done this before for guys in my solo leagues and it generally works.

Ok, I've uploaded a basic tar.gz file with just the newest .dat files, so you'll be sure to be updated. I didn't include messages or anything else in it, because I did it all manually, but this should get your file to the right date. Lemme know if it works. Ok, it's up.

Didn't help me. It updated one file, kept the date at 9/30, then crashed when I clicked my team.

I'm getting the date 10/24, but my arbitration screen list 2 players, none are actually on my team, and when i click on them, im taken to a different player all together. Then, it crashed, after going into my team transactions page.

I don't know why the game isn't generating a tar.gz

I did another manual one. At first, it didn't work. I tried it again and then it did. But...here's a .zip file you can download that has the latest .dat files in it. Just copy over all of the .dat files in your FOOLH.lg folder and that should update the game for you.

I'll run free agency tomorrow as one period, rather than separating it, so we don't lose any time, but it gives you all another day to get your bids in on players.

My impression was he was combining both stages and running tonight at the normal time.

Dowling Enters FOOL-H Hall of Fame
Tuesday, January 1st, 1918: At his Hall of Fame induction legendary pitcher, Pete Dowling reminisced about his baseball career: "My how time flies. It is only a mere moment from your first spring training game to your first oldtimer's game. But it a magnificent journey."

Today Dowling was installled into the FOOL-Historical Hall of Fame after his selection by the Baseball Writers Association.

Baseball's newest HOF inductee was one fine hurler. When Dowling retired at age 35, he had registered 361 wins and 288 losses, struck out 2075 hitters, pitched in 771 games and compiled a 4.00 ERA.

Among the many people he mentioned in his induction speech was his first manager.
"He gave me my first opportunity when he could have kept other people. I was lucky -- he was a Pete Dowling fan. You can't get in the Hall of Fame without your first chance."

DC, I know you are wrestling with file issues and this is by way of an FYI not a complaint, for the first time in a long time my messages are messed up so, once you get the file stuff ironed out, can you keep tabs on whether the messages straighten back out too? Thanks

I get the same thing. My guess is to try to solve the file issues, DC had uploaded just the .dat files by hand since he was having issues with the game generating the files correctly. That means none of the messages are actually included in our download when he had to do that.

Indeed. I didn't have it uploading messages when I was trying to figure stuff out. Starting with the next file, I'll put everything in there as normal and hopefully it works.
