VBS Sits down with a cannibal
Not for the faint of heart...seriously. Very graphic interview with Issei Sagawa
hxxp://www.vbs.tv/watch/vbs-meets/vbs-meets-issei-sagawa-part-1 I'm kind of at a loss for words. The fact that there are people like this out there is just...seriously fucking frightening.

I like how Japan took him back and just...set him free. WTF!!!
And now he makes a living making a cannibal-manga and as a porn actor (who tells the women about being a cannibal after the sex)!?!?! WTF!?!?!?! Japan is one fucked up place. Seriously.

In the narrative below the video, they write that they wanted to find out what he's been up to in the thirty years since.
I know it's a very cliched statement. But, for some reason, I find it slightly humorous, and tremendously creepy. |

I found his comment, "Maybe if we'd had dinner once more, I wouldn't have eaten her," to be strangely horrifying and hilarious all at once.

Yeah...seriously. I also thought it was pretty twisted how he now makes these porn videos (with all the usual japanese fetishes...golden showers, etc.), and then at the end of them tells the girls on camera that he once killed a girl and ate her. I mean seriously - that's just like...gratuitous. Way to really screw those girls up.

the sick and twisted part is that this assclown not only got away with murder, he's capitalizing on it.

While I agree generally with this sentiment, I also think society has failed him. The kind of person he is, he is not supposed to be free. He should either be dead or locked away in a prison or hospital. So in some respect, it's not fair to him to just put him back on the street as if he was some normal person who is able to make a living and live a normal life. It's not like he's just a felon or something - he's a freaking cannibalistic killer with severe mental/personality disorders. He couldn't get a real job, but he needs a place to live and money to live on, so some sick fucks took advantage of the guy. I didn't get the sense that any of that stuff was his idea - seemed more like people wanted to capitalize on his infamy and used his situation to their advantage. The guy has no friends, lives in isolation, claims to be close to eviction, and wishes he were dead. That's hardly capitalizing on his crime. And with the kind of mentally fucked person he is, there is a clinical detachment from the crime (notice he keeps calling it "the incident" over and over) that allows him to be capable of putting aside normal human decency and doing what people will pay for him to do - but part of that is just the basic human survival instinct, too. And while it would be great if he had died way back when or killed himself, I don't think it's fair for us to expect someone to take their own life to spare us from having to worry about his next crime. Just a really twisted person and a terrible international response to a clearly dangerous person.

I can't stand how some interviews/biographical videos will have some ominous soundtrack in the background. It's like they don't want people making up their own minds about someone, they'd rather you think XYZ person is a monster before you even hear them talk.
Stupid. And no, of course I'm not saying this guy isn't insane, I'm just making an observation about the filmmaker.
