Merry Christmas FOFC! ( what did ya get?)

May the good Lord bless us all and our families this year and many to come. Rejoice for the love of our savior is the strongest of all love!

Hope you all got good loot. The look on my almost 4 year olds face when he came down the stairs was magical and better than any gift I could ever ask for.

So what was everyones haul?

My wifey got me what I wanted - a sweet telescope. Now I'll probably have to wait 2 to 3 months for a clear night

Didn't get a frigid cold (and perfectly clear) one after the latest cold front?

Are we counting Lego gifts for one's self? If so, I have this waiting for me when I get home: King's Castle

In the last year, I've picked up quite a few things I've always wanted in Lego on clearance. Last Christmas, it was a Lego ship (Black Pearl!) I think next year, I'll get a Lego train and the list of "large cool Lego things I've always wanted" will be complete.

Got a nice pair of LL Bean Boots and gloves and a $50 Steam card from the rents. I grabbed Starbound and Shadowrun Returns Deluxe with that so far.

Exchanging gifts with the girlfriend this weekend.

For myself I got 3 Batman Lego sets.

Got a new laptop. Thinking about trading it in for a better one.

What do you think, nerds?

HP 2000 Notebook PC
3rd-generation Intel Core i3-3120M Processor (2.5 GHz)
750GB Hard Drive
4096MB DDR3 SDRAM

I just want FM and Crusader Kings to run at good speeds. On my current laptop FM crawls and CK lags.

Merry Christmas, FOFC!

A pair of Bose noise-cancelling headphones from my wonderful girlfriend (the headphones will be a godsend, given all the travelling I need to do for my job), plus some vouchers from family.

It's been a good day. Hope you all have a good one.

Most likely has an AMD Radeon HD 6310. Not very good, but it should play CK ok. Havent played FM in ages, it seems like the laptop is subpar for it.

it's not much about what I get but about what we give.Yeah, sure I got myself a $1500 treadmill back in September and that's my Xmas gift but we gave a laptop to my mother in law. Nothing much to most of us, but still a very decent 17" Lenovo that will do everything she needs. She so didn't expect it, she started crying. She helps us so much I was the one to tell my wife that's what we should get her. Best decision of this holiday season...

I'm setting it up now so she can take it home later.

oh, and I got myself the book "Born to Run" when I bought the 2nd compendium of Walking Dead for our 16yo son from amazon. Wife wrapped it and I unwrapped it this morning, looking all surprised

This. Totally.

That said - I got the workout gloves that I wanted, a Chromecast (which I was actually thinking about myself, so good call by my dad), a nice "everyday" sort of tie, a berry-bowl (that's got drainage holes like a colander), and a nice monogrammed leather business card holder (that I'm actually going to use as a super-slim wallet, because I don't like carrying around a big thick wallet when all I really need is a couple credit cards and my license.

Merry Christmas to all you FOFC'ers!!!

I got enough money and best buy cards that I'm heading to best buy tomorrow to see if they have any XB1's in stock. Wife and kids got me FIFA 14 and my dad and step mom got me COD Ghosts (all for the XB1), also got another XB1 controller.

Tons of Adidas clothes and a really nice dual rack toaster oven.

Very spoiled and thankful!!!

Clothes that are to keep me warm during the winter. I never have been a person who really changes what I wear regardless of the season outside of shorts so this year I loaded up on thermal socks, long underwear, etc. I got the board game Trains and the L5R 9 Starter set box for the Emperor Edition: Gempukku. I can't lift the box if I'm picking it up from the side and using one hand. I think I figured out it has roughly 2,000 cards in the box and each of the 9 clans have their own box as well. It is honestly one of the most impressive packages I have seen for a game. I've only got 2 of the 9 clans done in terms of sorting out the starter decks.

Not much for me:

French Press (love making my coffee this way)
Stand Mixer (Still trying to rebuild my cooking supplies after being separated for 3 yrs)
Hair cutting kit

I got a new work wardrobe in Nov.

Best present for me this year was the fact I have my kids for their entire Christmas break. It's been great and they have had an awesome Christmas as well.

I slept well without anxiety meds for the first time in a long time!

Also got some nice gifts. I'm a big Godiva fan, so my sock was full of truffles and whatnot, got a recumbent exercise bike and a dimmable, color adjustable LED strip light.

Also got to spend time with family and friends, which is probably the best part of it all.

Best thing was seeing the look on my daughter's face when she saw all of her gifts.

I also got a GoPro Camera (got it early for roller coasters at Disney), my wife got a very nice frame and framed a picture I recently got of my grandparents from just after their wedding, a little electronic basketball game for my desk, an Eagles foam helmet that my daughter picked out, and some new pajamas

Wifi range extender, memory for the htpc, 5 port charger that can charge our tablets (3) and phones (2) at one central location, portable charger for the times I forget a charger on a trip, money for the disney trip.

I also bought myself FM 2014 yesterday, even though I doubt I'll ever play it.

Honestly, it takes my child so long to open her presents, I don't even bothering really getting myself anything for Christmas. I just randomly buy crap throughout the year.

My wife and I didn't exchange too much this year. Finally got rid of some debt, and working on building a bigger cushion in our savings.

But the kids did really well. Lucy (9) got a bunch of clothes and nail polish, etc. Sam (7) got a skate sharpening pass for the year that Santa was really smart to get, and new hockey gloves.

Their big items were iPod Touches. Sam got the "lesser" version that didn't include messaging, and they were upset they couldn't message each other. So we set up Yahoo! addresses for them, associated to ours so we can monitor.

Attached is what I expect to get plenty of in the coming year from my son.

Hahaha that's awesome.

One of my nieces (on my wife's side) got an iPod Touch for Hanukkah and her own email address. She's 7. Her mom encouraged all of us to send her an email and I sent her a really nice couple paragraphs. All I got back was "Thanks". Bitch.
