Morey's Quarry

So a couple weeks back, Daryl Morey received word that the Miami Heat's Chris Bosh would agree to sign with the Houston Rockets if LeBron James decided to return to Cleveland. This notice would have addressed Houston's need for a third star player to accompany Dwight Howard and James Harden.

Should Morey have contacted the agents of Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik, and Chandler Parsons and sold them out as replaceable role players or returned the key players from last year's squad and let the chips fall where they may?
