Smith vs. Kaepernick?
In the spirit of the "season" (of bashing Kaepernick, I guess)....which one would you choose to run your franchise...

Kap is more explosive, but also more error prone. Smith has settled into a consistent game manager, so have to go with him. I think a lot depends on the scheme too and Smith is with the right coach with Reid.

Trout.
I think both can be very effective with the right game plans.

I think Smith is a bit more flexible. Kap is not exactly the kind of guy who stays cozy in the pocket and makes his reads. That's fine in the right system, but if I was drafting a team to win right now, I'd take Alex Smith.

It's amazing how one poster can make so many people hate a QB.

I think if Smith ever had a point in his career where he had a good receiving corps, he would be an easy winner here. I think he is a lot better QB than he gets credit for.

He's an underrated QB in one sense. The problem is his refusal to throw the deep ball. At some point you have to stretch defenses in this league. Smith just doesn't do it enough.
Not sure of Kaep will ever make it, but I just don't know how good Smith will ever fair against above average defenses. |
