NFL Regular Season Thread (Or Duck, Duck, Grey Duck and other Children's Games)

Rams at Jaguars this week, for those interested in a Super Bowl preview.

Pats at Jets to see if the Pats can possibly keep up with the Bills and Jets in the division.

Football is fun.

Kevin Hogan could actually be decent and the Browns are wise to find out. He's got wheels. This is the 20th starting QB that Joe Thomas has blocked for!!

DRC showed up for practice today. Got into a shouting match with his coach, and then left.

I forget the details, but I remember the Giants went through some trouble to keep McAdoo because they were afraid another team would poach him. That's probably a decision they regret in hindsight.

McAdoo certainly looks like the biggest doofus on the planet, for what little that's worth.

And the team suspended him. Media first said DRC left then was suspended, but Landon Collins said he was suspended first, then left.

Pretty amazing how this team crashed and burned so quickly.

As long as we're talking NY: this Jets team is 3-2?!? I seriously thought they had one of the worst rosters in NFL history before the season started.

Having watched all 3 of those wins, I can safely tell you that it's the perfect combination of about 3 good plays in 3 weeks and opposing teams who couldn't get their willys wet in a whorehouse. Cutler and Bortles literally couldn't hit a receiver to save their lives, and Kizer gave away at least 3 scores with awful decisions and horrid throws.

As awful as Jax & Cle played, those were both close games.

It's been a fun couple of weeks for Jets fans, but this is not a good team

It's so sad that Adrian Peterson is the last person on the planet that believes in Adrian Peterson. Kind of Screams of a desperation move by the Arizona front office to say that they did something when there's probably about 50 other backs they could have gone for a similar price or signed off a practice squad that would be eons more effective

Injuries, Fumbles, and Suspensions derailed a career that couldnt have started out any more impressive. His body has taken a beating. With his determination I would guess he is still better than what the Cards currently have uninjured but they are paying more than his market value for him. He was never going to be a fit for the Saints and I am not sure how Payton thought AP could fit into his system. It was strangely bizarre.

I believe we are seeing the end of bell cow running backs in the NFL. Teams have figured out better ways to split up the abuse which in return hopefully leads to running backs having longer careers. At this point in time I am starting to believe running back is the worst major professional sports occupation with their short careers and injury proneness.

From the very little I have seen of Peterson this year he hasnt had any holes to run through. The Saints couldnt disguise it very well either because they rarely had AP in on the pass plays so teams overplayed run when he was out there. He didnt look good in his final year with the Vikings either but the offensive line couldnt run block. He might have a little left in the tank I cant with 100 percent confidence say he is done. When he is counted out it seems like he comes back stronger.

The problem for Peterson is that there is even less holes for him to run through in Arizona-they have one or two season-ending injuries there already and young players who can't stay healthy enough to help there. And Palmer has been sacked the most of any QB already this season. I don't have a problem with them trying to find RB help given the Johnson injury-but they needed to find O-line help first.

Yep, beginning of the season I was hoping like hell Zeke would fight it to the death. Now I'd say drop it and serve it. Maybe use these six weeks to get into shape. Does anybody else think he looks a bit more pudgy than last year and lacks the burst he had?

Give him credit for having the guts to do that. He would have been destroyed in the media if they didn't make the 2, regardless of how this game ends.

It confuses me that commentators continue to insist that pylon extends beyond the boundaries when according to the officials and repeated calls it clearly has not been that way for years?

So Cleveland really isn't that good.

It's mind boggling is that people will pay money to see this team play.

Aaron Rodgers out of the GB game, maybe with a broken collarbone. If Saints win today, it will be the first time they are over .500 since 2013, which seems hard to believe with Brees there. Pats just took the lead, but break up the Jets. This is the last Jets team I would have predicted to beat Brady and NE, so color me surprised they are even this close. Cleveland may be wishing they had taken Watson given what's going on in Houston right now. SF's Hoyer has been benched in favor of a rookie-Beathard.

It’s mind boggling that a team could have that many high draft picks and still have the least talent in the league. Garrett looks good if he can stay healthy and Thomas is good, but the QBs are awful, they let their one OK receiver walk because they didn’t to pay him, Thomas is still around but the line overall is bad, and the defense doesn’t have a ton of talent either. Just a complete train wreck.

What the hell happened on that Seferian-Jenkins TD/fumble call? The NFL seems determined to try and outdo itself every year on the most incomprehensible call they can make.

Jets look like they might have a legitimate beef over that call.

Just a crazy game, what I'd expect with a defense as bad as NO's.

Because the Saints have a bizarre fetish for giving money and spending draft picks on backup running backs rather than defense?

What a crazy game though. Nearly 90 points, multiple fourth quarter touchdowns by defensive linemen, Stafford doing his best Stat Padford impression. What offensive crisis?

Bad loss for the Falcons, nearly for the Redskins too. Bears win a road game for the first time in 10 games.

And Adrian Peterson tells me to shut up about my criticism of the trade after he's run for a bunch of yards and a TD in the first quarter. And it must be "Returners Day" in the NFL, as there have been a few run back for a TD including the opening kickoff 100 or so yards for the Rams.

Good thing Jons not a Chargers fan. He'd be having a stroke right now.

And call me crazy, but I agree with the Jenkins ruling. There's no way he regains possession before he's out of bounds. Letter of the law.

Are the Raiders seriously trying to run the ball with Cordarelle Patterson and then pass to Marshawn Lynch? Seems to be working well for them

No idea what to make of the 49ers. They've lost their last 5 games by a combined 13 points. They're clearly not very good...but a few plays break differently, and they could easily have won all five of those games.

Watching Fournette run against 8 men boxes and still make yards is pretty damn impressive. Put him on last years Cowboys team and I think he’s better than Zeke.

There is no way there was enough evidence to support that theory in any of the angles they showed. Patriots cash some of their Goodellbucks they got given after Deflategate.
