Re: still playing?
Yes, i do my own thing with this game meaning i do my own league with 8 created teams in addition to using for default teams making it 12 teams in my league. I create schedules and conduct CPU versus CPU games with all the other games that I'm not playing. It keeps the game fresh... Makes it timeless. The only Madden i really like is 13 for Vita. -

Re: still playing?
I'm not a huge football fan, so having a game that I can play without having to worry that I have the correct rosters is always a plus.
Plus, whats not to like about having Joe Montana throw a long bomb to Jerry Rice?
I've never really been able to get into the Madden series anyhow. I find that it started getting rather complicated after Madden 08.Comment

Re: still playing?
This game still has the BEST gameplay out compared to any other football game with 2K4, 2K5, BackBreaker, and NFL Fever 2004 coming afterwards in terms of best options.
There's an APF editor out there if you dig around.Comment

Re: still playing?
dont really need it i like the balance of the game! if you have 10 gold star on your team it becomes too easy...and it still is the best gameplay even compared to games that came out after!Last edited by guii23; 07-03-2015, 10:31 PM.Comment

Re: still playing?
I'm finally giving it a rest this year. I haven't had a new nfl game since 2k5. I love this game & had a great season last year but after 10 yrs, I want to use some current players. I'm picking up Madden 15 since it's cheap & I'm still on PS3.
2k8 never failed to surprise me with something every year. A really solid game.Comment

Re: still playing?
Still have it. Still play it once in a while.
If only a franchise mode or even a multiple endless season mode, what could have been ... really 2K, no franchise/no multiple season mode ... this game could have had lasting appeal with a franchise mode ... stat tracker.Comment

Re: still playing?
I'm still playing on the weekends here and there. The gameplay is still engaging, but the online competition has dwindled to mostly hexers. Luckily, I still have a few Friends who play straight up. But honestly, after almost 8 years and 1,000's of games, I'm about ready to hang up the cleats for good.Comment

Re: still playing?
Great game, nothing EA has produced in the last decade still rival its on the field gameplay and is the best representation of the chess match that is football. Height, weight and momentum all played a factor in the game, as well as the check and balances that were implemented for offense and defense during presnap. However, its showing its age and lack of online (had it for PS3) ultimately ended the reply factor for me. Dark times indeed, but I'll hold on to the memory. Have faith until the day something comes out as an alternative, just hold on to your faith! It's not about the win or loss that reveals a man, but the journey to get there and the battle that transpired. This speaks VolumesComment
