Gimme A Team to Start A Chise With

I would like to hear your opinions on what team I should use for starting an MLB Franchise, I will use ANY team. So I would love to hear your suggestions! I will be using updated rosters and will start around the All Star Break!

My #1 choice is Tampa Bay. Great #1 and #2 SP, and some nice young arms to fill out the rest of the staff.. Star slugging 3B, a pretty decent speedy CF, and a nice utility guy in Zorbist. The rest of the lineup gives you the ability to bring in your type of guys.

Plus nobody is really posting about them and the AL East gives you tough competition every year.

I'd like to see a San Francisco Giants franchise. One of the best ballparks in my opinion and a pretty good starting rotation. They have a few holes in the field but they also have Buster Posey. They play in a fairly tough division with the Diamondbacks and Dodgers in contention almost every year. You could always go with the Blue Jays... Reyes, Bautista, Encarnacion, Dickey... 'nuff said

Do a team that hasn't had a dynasty to start with. I think people will be more likely to follow a team that hasn't been done yet and have less of a "team inertia" so to speak.

Some teams I think would bring a good and unique dynasty here are the Rangers, Rays, Giants, Angels, Orioles and Dodgers

Good teams that can immediately contend and haven't had a dedicated franchise done for them.

Experiment with some suggested teams and pick the team that you are the most entertained with

Re: Gimme A Team to Start A Chise With

I'll just post this here rather than start a new thread just for this one question. I'll be starting a franchise story once I get back to my PS3 (two weeks from now) and though I've already decided to go with my Cardinals, I'm torn between using updated rosters with the real transactions made so far or the Opening Day set.

I'd start playing on Opening Day and my aim is to play all the games myself. If I'd use the updated rosters I'd treat all the trades etc. made so far as ones that happened before the season began, and with the OD set I'd go completely fictional with the transactions that happen during the season.

Which of the two options would you consider the better one?

As for the original question in this thread, it'd be interesting to see either the Orioles or the Dodgers.

It looks like nobody's doing a White Sox franchise, that'd be interesting..

.. Lol, just kidding. I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

I'm going to suggest the Phillies, because you're a Phillies fan. Covering and playing games with "my" team always makes it more interesting, for me at least. I've found that it's easier to get behind and not lose interest because of my familiarity with the team. But, that's just me.

You could always play with the Dodgers, having way too much money to spend on the game is nice as well.

Others that I can think of are the Rays, A's and the Indians. I don't think there's anyone doing franchises with those teams.
