Re: Redskins (HC 09)

Just a couple of observations....

mrs844224, I agree, it just seems weird on that draft because I seem to know most of the players on it. I wont have that problem in the next one though!

My offensive line is just that...OFFENSIVE! It will be the thing that causes me the most problems this season I think, giving up 5 sacks...ouch!

Oh...I had a punt blocked in this game! I guess it was in that 4th Quarter when they unleashed on me.

That is the one thing I hate about just simming games...don't know when stuff happens...

No, there's nothing wrong with it, but in the NFL, every GM's draft has misses. Sometimes BIG ones. They don't know where every single Pro Bowler is and get a half-dozen of them magically every time in the 5th to 7th round. No one drafts 5 Tom Brady's each year. And if you take all the top POT guys, (usually the same guys), again and again - what's the point? You're just changing helmets on the same core roster. I could fill my roster up each time with the same guys everyone takes and go 16-0 and win 8 super bowls in a row - but that's boring and pointless to me. Every 2008 draft you see the same guys getting drafted/UDFA. I avoid drafting any of those guys anymore just 'cause you seem them on everyone's franchise - some I haven't drafted in years.

Still, it's a game, just play how you want and have fun, whether you're shooting for realism or an arcade game... Fun is that's all that matters. Just my opinions... hope no one takes offense.

Re: Redskins (HC 09)

none taken here...

it is very difficult when I seem to know every player in this draft now. just like everyone else, even though I want realism, I still want to win. So yea, I got Moore, Campbell and Steltz, but most of the others were new to me since I was in a bind with this team. I spent a lot of time scouting the players I didn't know to try to make the most of what I had to work with.

But yes, the temptation is there and it is hard to resist, but then again, the research is what draws me back to this game so much...

Yep, I think that gives me too much info...and when I first started playing the game the computer seemed to just draft everyone I was targeting that way. So now, I just do them on the top players listed in the draft to see who will be a bust Unless I have a top 15 pick...then I don't even do them.

I also do not actually move players on my draftboard. Once again, I know it is probably stupid, but it just felt like if I moved them, then the cpu would target them. So I have my sheets of paper with my own draftboard written on them.

Re: Redskins (HC 09)

I am really kind of shocked at this point to be honest. The team is playing pretty well. I thought that after the first game I was going to see the famous "4th Quarter collapses" all season, but so far, that is the only one.

The next game is against the Cowboys, and it is a biggie. If I can win it, it will achieve 2 goals from the owner, 1 is to win 3 of 4 and 2 is the beat the Cowboys in Week 4. This game is in Dallas, so no pressure there huh?
