Groce is amazing, I know this year is going to be rocky due to all the new players but we need to extend him sooner than later, he's proven himself as a coach and in a short time is proving himself to be a top notch recruiter.

after the classless display of Alexander, Charles Matthews called Illinois per Jeremy Werner of 95.3 ESPN Champaign. Said the conversation was good and was very supportive of Groce and co.

It's funny. I read a book a while back and a player committing did the exact same hat thing that Alexander did.

Oh yeah Cliff wasn't the first and won't be the last, others have gone even further.

I remember when Kevin Jones committed to Virginia Tech, he was picking between Penn State and Virginia Tech, at his presser he pulled out a PSU jersey making it look like that was his pick only to announce I will... not be attending Penn State, then he pulled off his sweatshirt to reveal he was wearing a Michael Vick VaTech jersey.

Pretty sure Shaun Livingston wore an Illini jersey to school the day he picked Duke over you guys.

Yup, and being from Peoria which is known for being a major pipeline to Illinois not only did he wear a Brian Cook jersey to school the day before announcing, he said he hoped to start a pipeline from Peoria to Duke when he announced.
